In D/P/P, we got the Poketch; in HG/SS, we got the Pokegear; in B/W, we got the C-Gear; in X/Y, we could rotate between Amie, Super Training, and the PSS, and, in ORAS, now we have the Pokenav Plus.
The Pokenav Plus is amazing~. I love having the AreaNav and the DexNav. The AreaNav is so helpful in almost every way- shows me where I last planted Berries, shows me Secret Base locations, shows me Trainers ready to rebattle- I love it. And I was so happy we had the same features from X/Y, too! (though putting my Pokemon in Amie may or may not have overpowered them...)
How about you guys?

I LOVED the Poketech so much in Pearl. Oh man it was awesome. The daycare app where you could see when eggs appeared was so helpful. There were worthless apps on it like the drawing one but overall it was very nice and I loved the beeping sounds it made.

I was kind of upset that it wasn't in gen 5 or 6 to be honest. Or at least something like that. Pokemon amie was nice in gen 6 and I found the PSS to be super helpful. No more going to a PC to connect with someone! xD I have no interest or need to use Super Training.

I really like the upgrade they did for ORAS. I wasn't sure if they would keep the trainers eyes thing for rebattling but they did! So glad! Without the VS Seeker for two generations, this was well needed!

HG/SS had the best bottom screen for me during normal gameplay. The PokeGear was a separate menu, so I don't really feel like it counts. HG/SS had the ability of opening all menu items, turning running on or off, accessing key items and talking to people by tapping their respective buttons on the touch screen... That was perfect.. So far, the only things that have made a return are the menu items, while all the other functions are still missing.

So if there's anything I miss that was enabled by the touch screen, it's the fact that HG/SS allowed me to play with just the D-pad and stylus.

Yeah, I did not remember what the HG/SS bottom screen looked like from the top of my head... ;; It was so well integrated into the game that I completely forgot its utility. :0

For usefulness, it would go to ORAS's. For favorite, Black and White's. I loved how you could change the background to a completely different picture. I lost Black 2 after having it for a month, so I forgot what that looked like, but I think it was pretty different from BW1. Also too bad you needed access to the Dream World to change and that's gone, so I'm stuck with a Pikachu background and Unova Starter Pok?dex forever.

HGSS all the way. The poketch was nice but very slow. Especially the DP version since you couldn't go backwards on it. :/

The C Gear would've been really nice if only it did something useful for normal gameplay. It was nice for IR trading and dream world syncing but overall it seemed like such a step backwards.

XY's system doesn't leave me with much of an impression. The Pokenav Plus is nice but I really don't use it to its full potential.

I liked X/Y/OR/AS. I loved Super Training and I adored Pokemon Amie. Pokemon Amie was basically Nintendogs + Pokemon (Two games I love!!)

I still prefer the PSS/old XY features imo. I hardly use the DexNav and ****

Since I run a lot of wonderlockes, which requires wonder trades, I'm gonna have to go with the PSS.

Though, I do like the DexNav.

DexNav is nice. It's really satisfying to see that platinum badge or whatever (I forget what color it is exactly) when you catch all the pkmn in the area. RSS & PokeAmie were cool too.

Touch-screen Pause menu and Key Items > Poketch > PokeNav+ > C-Gear
Honestly, that was probably one of my favorite additions in HG/SS, never having to hold B again and such a convenient way to navigate through menus! That was the life.
I thought the C-Gear was a nice addition, but I didn't have many friends or Nintendo Wi-Fi during my playthrough of Gen 5...
