Favors for Villagers

Hi all,

I'm trying to collect the badges from Phineas and I'm wondering what counts as a favor for your villagers. Do you have to hear the musical notes once you complete the favor for it to count? Or is it just when you do anything for them?

I believe the musical notes must be heard. For example, if you give them a lost item and it turns out to be theirs, it's a favor. But if you buy an item from them, it's not a favor. That's what I've experienced, anyways.
