What's your favorite holiday? Why is it your favorite? Do you have any memories that you cherish from your favorite holidays?

My favorite holiday is Halloween for a number of reasons.

- It's in my favorite season, autumn, so the weather is nice and the trees look beautiful with their red and yellow leaves.
- I love things that have a generally spooky vibe like skulls, rats, spiders, graveyards, ghosts, etc.
- I have always been a huge fan of costumes. Whether I'm wearing them or just looking at other people's costumes, it's something I enjoy.
- My birthday is November 1st and I should have been born on October 31st if not for complications, so I've always closely linked my birthday with Halloween. I had trick-or-treating birthday parties as a child and as an adult, I still view it as 'my' holiday in a way.
- Halloween doesn't come with a lot of the pressures that other holidays do, like being forced to attend uncomfortable family gatherings or struggling to find thoughtful gifts for everyone.

I love christmas as a family holiday, there are a lot of memories associated with it from my childhood like when my brother and I would literally wake up at like 4am but not being able to wake up our parents yet haha

but now as an adult, one of my favourite holidays to celebrate is halloween, I love dressing up and then going out and finding a fun little bar or pub that's having a themed night and dancing the whole night

Christmas! I have so many wonderful childhood memories are from Christmas time when I was younger. 🎄

Omg yes I totally agree with all of this! I wish I had an October birthday around Halloween so I could get extra candy lol.

Omg yes that sounds so fun! I loovveed Christmas growing up, then started disliking it because bad stuff kept happening, but now I love it again. I love both Christmas and Halloween so much (but I love Halloween a bit more).

Same, but I had problems happen a few times on Christmas, but I'm starting to really enjoy it again!

Tet - Lunar New Year

I just enjoy the traditions and activities with the temple. The dragon dances that travel around to businesses. The fireworks, the decorations, flowers, altar offerings, food, giving li xi/lucky money...everything.

I like the meaning and welcoming of a new cycle/year. No matter how the previous year has been, it's a fresh and happy start into the next. I feel the same for the U.S. New Year's but Lunar New Year's has a lot more going on so I'd put it at the top.

Christmas! I like Halloween too but for the past few years I really haven't done anything to celebrate it. Christmas and New Years (I sorta count them as one holiday) are nice because of all the good childhood memories I have of them, the food and the presents, and the fact that for a few days between Christmas and New Years it feels like nothing matters and you can just relax

I don't personally celebrate any holidays, but if I had to pick one then maybe Halloween. Christmas is also nice, but I despise the commercialization of this holiday and all of the materialism now associated with it.

Christmas and Halloween are my two personal favorites. I love getting candy on Halloween and dressing up if I get the chance. Christmas though is my most favorite, because it’s nice to get people presents and to spend time with my family.

Christmas.
-I love getting free stuff that I actually want
-Brings back amazing childhood memories
-The Christmas TV specials were always more spectacular than the Halloween specials
-Pretty decorations
-Love the traditions my family does every year, which is mainly just watching the 1970's version of Scrooge Christmas eve.
-Scented candles.
-I can actually wear a onesie
-The sweets are always amazing
-Weather is super nice. If I didn't live in an area where it was cold but never snowed, or lived in a desert my entire life, I would definitely enjoy the snow during Christmas time.
-Just waking out to the tree on Christmas morning makes me feel amazing, also destroying the heck out of wrapping paper is fun.

Also, the other holidays feel a bit bland in my opinion (aside from Thanksgiving, because food). I try my best every year to like Halloween... but it never works. Mainly because I know I won't end up eating candy, and it will just make me feel sick if I do end up eating too much.

It used to be Halloween because of the parties and costumes, but now with COVID, it's been Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm really thankful that I'm staying with my family this year and I appreciate all the effort they go through to keep us fed, sheltered, and be there to listen. Those two holidays celebrate family, so I've gained a better appreciation for them this year.

i love christmas so dang much! the warmth that you feel around, how extra giving and kind people are, the treats, the presents, candy canes, hot chocolate, cold weather, ALL OF IT!!!
