I wanna hear your favorite aspects about the game or the little things you appreciate with the game.
Were there things in it that you were surprised to find?

Please be vague with spoilers 🧡 🧡

I've been eyeing Stardew Valley on steam simply because I have heard so many people say great things about the game. I use to play farmville a long time ago when it was new and before they added all these farms in different places and it got insane lol. I did enjoy that game, even though on the surface it did seem like a boring game.
I am sitting there looking at Stardew Valley with the same thoughts, but unsure if it something I would enjoy.
I have heard different things like there being nice dialog with friendship building, and mining. So it isn't only farm based. I was also surprised that it was only $15 which I think is a good price.

Oh goodness! Stardew Valley is one of my top favorite games, I'd liken it more to Minecraft than Farmville, though, since you physically have to do preparation/planning for stuff.

There's definitely a way to min-max from the jump, if you are into that, but it really is made for relaxed gameplay. There's a gifting mechanic and each villager having items they do and do not like, which is fun to discover (until you give a rare item and get told off), really gives them personality. And it's really rewarding to gift villagers your produce/animal products; and the characters are believable and interesting. Farming and socializing are the main (?) aspects, but mining and fishing are definitely important too and the game itself is just so well-rounded.

I do find vanilla SDV not to be my taste, but then I mod most of my games for aesthetics or fun, and there's a huge modding community (as well as a dedicated modder who added an entirely new aspect of the game for once you've 'finished' it the first time, Stardew Valley Expanded, if you're interested; but definitely play the entire game through first) on reddit and nexusmods.

Overally, again, just such a good game! Slower pace, but once you get into it you really get sucked in. Loved getting to know the villagers, and finding the secret areas. Also you get a dog/cat and.... my heart 🥺❤.
