Favor/Question about train station upgrade

I am working towards getting the train station upgrade, and I am wondering what my progress is. I know that if someone visits my town in the dream suite and talks to Porter, he will tell how many visitors I have had. I was wondering...
1. Would someone be willing to do this and tell me how many I have?
And
2. Is that really the only way to be able to track your progress?

I just wasn't sure if I'm missing something. I tried googling this question but didn't find a definitive answer. Thanks

Hey there! There is another way to see the amount of visitors. If you sit by your tree in the plaza and wait through the town info near the end (Takes a minute or minute and a half or so) it says "Total Visitors"

Ohh ok, I figured there had to be another way! I just have to be patient enough to sit through the whole tree thing haha
