So I decided to reset my town, but I wanted to move out the villagers I was close to first. So I moved out Marshal, Ankha, and a few others. But Fang just won't move. (He was my 7th? move in overall as my cranky villager.) I have cycled through literally 60 villagers now and he's still here! All my original ones are long gone, and I've even gotten Pietro twice now. I had two wolves come and go, but unfortunately he didn't leave with them. I really wish they had put in a way to get them to move.

My only guess is that I don't talk to the new villagers that move in, so they all want to leave. I haven't talked to Fang in a long long time though, and I've been trying to talk to the recent move ins. Idk, he just won't leave! Just to confirm, there's no way to get a villager more likely to move out is there? I'd like to start over sometime soon and not cycle forever.

I think it may be bad luck. My Cranky villager, Tom (ironic xD) moved out unexpectedly - while some other cranky villagers have been a pain to get to move out such as Peewee.

I've never found a sure-fire guide for getting a villager to move out though. Sometimes ignoring them for long periods of time words... sometimes befriending them works... sometimes even smacking them with a toy hammer works xD. There's a lot of various methods, but none seem to be more effective than the other from my perspective. Maybe try something new and he'll move out o; ? Good luck!

I've had villagers that have stayed in town for over 30 "cycles" (30 villagers left before them). It was absolutely ridiculous, but that's how RNG works I suppose ; - ; ! Some people say to talk to them and whatnot to up the friendship level and get them to leave sooner; there are no statistics confirming or denying this but :/ (hasn't really helped in my practice)

Thank you t__t up to like 70 villagers now and he still won't leave.

Yeah I tried being friendly but it doesn't seem to have helped. I'd hate to give up on him, but he seems to want to go down with his home lol

aah, that's a pity Q ^ Q. i'd pay a pretty penny for him too orz... well, whatever makes you enjoy the game better! Don't want you to pull all your hair out with him~

I think it is really bad luck :c I never had a real statistic showing if certain methods really work or not.. it sucks.
I heard a lot of different methods...and sometimes none of them will work.. it just takes time and cycling other villagers out to get someone to move. Sometimes if you are super nice to them for a while and pay the most attention to them for a few days to a week it will get them to leave because their friendship levels are highest. This method worked best for me for most of my unwanted villagers. The other more risky method is time traveling a day in the future and then back to the present day. I then will walk around and talk to everyone I can find. Usually they will talk to me and say "So and so is thinking about moving" OR the person moving will ping me. If no one says anything or pings..I repeat the process until someone does. It can be risky...but I have done it more than 50+ times during the last two years and nothing has happened c:

I don't TT and I never really bought the validness of the other methods (i.e. ignoring them, being mean to them). I once had Iggly move in and I tried the ignore method but he ended up staying in town longer than I wanted him to anyway (I think it was about 2 months).

Another villager I remember having difficulty getting to move out was Ricky. This was back when I first got the game and he was the first villager I invited to town from my campsite. After a while of having him in town I wanted him to move so I awaited his ping for his decision to move. Unfortunately the first time he did this and I told him I was alright with him moving, he decided that he didn't want to move after all. -_- It took forever for him to finally move out.

If there's anything I learned from these two experiences it's this:
1. It's probably better to just interact with them until they decide to move.
2. When they do decide to move, there's little to no risk of them changing their mind when you hear about it from another villager first.

how could you not love Fang :) ?

maybe stop focusing getting him out, befriend him like crazy AND give him ROTTEN fruit (this fruit thing REALLY helps)

I just restarted my second town, I had no idea what I was getting into. lol. I had the game for a year and I think Lopez was in my town for half that time and he never pinged to move. I even had a new move in ping to move once and still he stayed. lol
