Fake Redd Art and Island Rating?

I’ve heard that displaying fake art will lower your HHA score and island rating, but I haven’t found anything conclusive proving or disproving this. Today all 4 pieces are fake, so is it worth buying one to display or will it actually hurt my island rating?

I think i saw a screenshot of an HHA score where they had mentioned the fake art in the home (thus, lost pts) but the again it could have been a doctored screenshot? I hadnt heard it hurting island rating rumor yet.
I personally haven't gotten any fake art laying around to prove it. Following to see if anyone knows for sure.

I'd also like to know the answer to this. I believe counterfeits did not affect HHA scores in ACNL, so I feel like they wouldn't affect scores in ACNH.

I have one fake displayed somewhere on the island and I still have a 5-star rating. I have two more fake pieces, could lay them out and see if it knocks me down.

Glad to hear that! I guess if there’s any negative impact it must not be significant

I have a fake statue on display in my island and a 5 star rating.

I also have a fake statue on display in my house and a 258k HHA score (got the gold trophy)
