Fact or Myth: Customising tools resets their durability

I have literally used the same fishing rod for about two weeks now lol. It's fact!

That's interesting. I didn't understand why someone would customize them if they would just break eventually.
But, the real question is.. does it cost more to keep buying/making tools, or does it cost more to keep customizing?

It costs 600 bells to apply a refreshing coat-- the cost of an iron nugget and the wood/branches/whatever may or may not equal that. Not sure it's worth the effort for me, honestly-- I'm pretty used to having to recraft tools at this point

in terms of the benefits, i dunno. i kind of just customize / diy stuff depending on which quest i get first.

I wouldn't call customizing every time I catch like 8 fish diligence.. XD

I really should be doing this, it would save me bells over the long run, but I can't be asked to keep track of my tool durability.

honestly since It takes basically the same time to customize a tool and craft one, I just gave up. hate running to my house to pull the resources, bench and craft. I just buy 2 tools from nook of each and call it a day. and honestly, its been so stress free that I'm not gonna craft a tool anymore.

Since you can buy just as good tools in the store, I haven't really wanted to spend extra time just to keep that one pretty tool;; But it is indeed fact! Not sure if it'll stay though, maybe they'll patch it out eventually - who knows?

Yeah it's fact! When I'm moving flowers I keep count and customize when my shovel is about to break just so I don't have to go through the hassle of buying/crafting a new one.

It costs 675 bells in materials to make each shovel and watering can. It takes 400 bells in materials to make the net and the pole. The cost to buy the net and pole are the same as the cost of making, but the cost to buy a watering can or shovel is 800 bells in the store. So, it's cost efficient to customize the shovel and watering can but not the net or pole. It's better to buy or make those.

I just prefer to customize them all and be done with it. For me, it's quicker and easier. Plus, I get the nook miles+ option to get miles for spending bells, but once I've bought what I want in the store or Able's, there's nothing left to buy, so I buy stacks of customization kits to meet the miles+ task and just use them on the tools.

i also do this! a quick and useful bell burner when there's nothing cool to buy.
