Face Cut-Out Standee & Custom-Design Sign questions

I'm a bit confused as to how these 2 PWPs work.
Do they work with regular patterns like the ones we use for paths and clothing?
If so if the patterns are removed from our invo will the designs on the 2 PWPs change as well,
like paths?

Um, not exactly. You just walk up to them, hit A, then select a picture from your inventory to put on it. If it's a default pic that you replace with a QR code, then the picture on the sign will not change.

Cut out ones need a design made for them because of the size, but sign boards will take normal patterns as long as you made them!
And you can remove them from your invo and they will remain on the sign board/cut out

So I can make a design for my sign, then trash it from my invo and it will still appear on my sign?

I'm pretty sure they'll work with any design type. Well, I'm not sure about the face-cut-out standee though. You can delete/change the designs once you've put them up, and they shouldn't disappear from the sign/standee. I deleted them in my old town, so that I had space for other designs.
