Splatoon Everyone and their mother is dressed as Ika Musume

I'm not even sure if these kids understand the reference. Either that, or literally all of us Inklings are freaking weebs, omg.
So the Squid Girl (in all CAPS) garb is literally a phenomenon right now in Splatoon. I am also dressed as Ika Musume, and if this was supposed to get me interested in watching SQUID GIRL the anime, it definitely has. Interestingly enough, I feel like it wasn't really supposed to be that- they are just both squids and the coincidence was too much not to tie them in somehow, lol.
Anyway, I just wanted to mention how popular the SQUID GIRL gear is.

@Pufflekirby: I'm actually shocked by that. Do you not play with a lot of Japanese players? They're the ones sporting the squid GIRL costume the most. (Though I feel like they have the most people from any country playing Splatoon).

I use the Squid Girl hat because it looks like a handmaiden's cap. I didn't even know it was an anime until I saw the dress; thing is, I first saw said clothes in an adult game AND a character maker, so I was initially confused by seeing it in Splatoon...

That's so cool! I remember watching Squid girl the anime when it first came out years ago.
I haven't played Splatoon in a month because I've been having bad connection recently (so I haven't updated yet.)

I really hope there are more cross overs for Splatoon - even if they're not squid/ocean-related. I'd be pretty content with a zelda cap or a tom nook apron
