I'm not sure if I will be able to make snowmen in my town. My town has many paths and is mostly dirt with a few patches of grass. I don't know what to expect.

I temporarily got rid of some pathways in my main town for this reason. There was no way I was going to be able to move a snowball across town.

You can't move the snowballs on the paths?

You can, but it still depends on if there is snow or dirt underneath said path. I got rid of a bunch so I could figure out where to roll it without shrinking them.

Man I'm on a roll with posting stuff while ignoring what others before me have posted. :D

Is it true that your snowball shrinks in size if you roll it over the dirt?

Yes, even if you can't see it. If there is dirt under your paths, it will shrink... even over bridges. Anything but snow makes it smaller, and if it gets too small it disappears. If it disappears or you accidently shove it in a pond or something, go inside and come back out. A replacement snowball will appear somewhere in your town.

They will also disappear if you roll them into something too many times, such as a tree or a house.

I'm so excited for snowballs! Not entirely for snowmen, but for the pure enjoyment of creating the largest one I can and shoving them into rivers, off cliffs, down ramps, etc. I'm also planning to make the most butt ugly snowperson ever.

At the beginning the snowballs shrink when rolled on the pathways. It's about a week in and than the snowballs will get larger on the pathways.
In my 2nd town I was able to roll my snowballs down the pathway to the bridge. They got larger. Just across the bridge there was a dirt patch. So I used the bridge and the dirt to get the snowball the right size. Another good place to make them smaller is the event plaza or the train station.

It takes awhile to get the snowboy right. But when it clicks you can make them in your sleep.
