I bought this game last October. It was my first experience with Animal Crossing, and I didn't know what to expect. I had a wolf living in my town, Lobo. He soon became my best friend. I played every day and talked to him. My other villagers came and went, but Lobo was always there.

Two weeks ago, Lobo came to me and said he wanted to leave. I told him to stay, and he was okay with that, but later that night I fell asleep without saving my game. I woke up the next morning, and saw that my DS was dead. I tried talking to Lobo, to see if he was still going to leave. He told me that he had made up his mind, and he left the next day.

I couldn't keep playing after that. Another favorite of mine, Carmen, left my town as well, and then Poppy moved in on top of the hedge row that I built around Lobo's house.

Tl;dr, I just reset my town. I couldn't live in my old home without Lobo as my neighbor. Strangely, this has been one of the hardest things I've ever done, meaning either I have a boring life, of Animal Crossing means a lot more to me than I think.

Anyway, I guess like, discuss things that have happened in your game that made you sad and maybe you'll feel better about it.

The most distress I've had was in regretting giving up villagers. I'd think I was ok with moving them out but then once they were gone I'd realize how attached I'd gotten to them and be pretty sad about it.
R.I.P. Sprinkle and Fang

Also I've regretted every time I've filled the 10th space in my town, because it means that villager can't leave until I give up a dreamie. The fact that the 10th villager can't move out causes me pretty constant distress.

:( Sorry that happened. It's so sad when a villager moves away when you don't want them to. I stopped playing for a while because one of my faves left. I didn't understand how the mechanic worked. Someone said they'd heard Scoot was thinking about leaving but Scoot never pinged me to leave...then one day he was in boxes. The same thing has happened a few times since--someone will say they've heard someone wants to move--but as soon as I hear someone's thinking about moving, I write them a letter and send them a gift, sometimes a couple of days in a row. Each time I've done that, the villager has pinged me to talk about moving and I've asked them to stay. Not sure if that's a guaranteed way to stop them from moving, but it's worth a shot!

Keep an eye out on the Villager Trading Plaza board and you never know--Lobo might just show up for you! List him as a dreamie in your profile and post in the "looking for" thread every day or so. Good luck and I hope you can find him!

I got careless when I time traveled for the first time, and because of that, my first ever favorite villager Cole moved out without me knowing :( I got sad for a while since I didn't know that that could happen, but I got over it after a while too.. So now I've been careful in TTing but sometimes I still TT too much and my fav villagers move out T__T

Also omg when my dreamies appear in the campsite but my town is full.. and most of the time, the 10th villager at the time either came from someone's void or from streetpass which pisses the frick out of me lmao

oh and whenever I accidentally run over and destroy my hybrids I die a bit inside...........

where on the list for lobo. i keep you posted :)

I just recently lost a villager of mine, Hopper, and it's been a sad time :/ He wasn't a dreamie (I don't have any dreamies, actually) but he was a favourite of mine and it was very sad. Him leaving was just due to negligence and me not paying attention to my game as much as usual. The good news is that someone is holding him for me, so that's nice ^^

My heart goes out to you. Truly.
Been there.
I started playing AC in this spring. I had an ok town. I got attached to villagers even tho they are not everyone else's Dreamies.
Two villagers had stopped by my house in one day. I knew we were close to becoming BFFs.
5 minutes later my 3DS broke.
Tears. Tears. And nearly a month later to get the repair set up, sent off and back, and the town was different even tho the time settings were the same.
The villagers knew.
I was heartbroken.
Tl;dr I reset too.
I found new villagers to love.
But I will always remember that town.
And you will always have memories of Lobo that only you can treasure.

First of all, happy first post! :D Second of all, I think we all can relate.

I used to love Penelope, she even gave me her picture! So I started talking to her. I was extremely bored so I kept hitting A ;). Suddenly she had that exclamation thingy above her head, so of course, I talked to her and kept hitting A. Before I knew it, I had asked one of my favorite villagers to move out of my town. :( I didn't have much knowledge about this game back then, and I thought that she would just forget I said that. So I forgot as well. On Easter Day, I started playing Animal Crossing. I had heard so many cool things about Bunny Day! Isabelle told me that Penelope was moving out. I was heartbroken! I tried everything I could to stop her from moving. I TTed backwards 2 days, then 3, and then forward 1 day. And I kept looking around the town to see if she had moved. On that third try of moving forward, I looked around the town, only to see that she was gone. :(

Just do what I did to get over your loss--- say to yourself that its just a video game and its not going to be the end of the world if a video game character moves. Maybe try taking a break from ACNL? Happy Home Designer is coming out soon (meaning two 3 months soon lol), you should check it out!

i feel ya guys so much T-T
when i first started playing ACNL, i had all those ugly and scary, rude villagers, that i hated. i never talked any of them, i hated them so much! i was so jealious for my cousin, who had all those cool, cute and adorable villagers. but one day, i saw that someone was moving to my town... it was some villager named Wendy! it sounded like a cute name, and i was super excited! when she moved in, i couldn't believe my eyes! i finally got my own adorable favourite villager! i started to talking her, and after months hard work, we became best friends!! she visited me often, and i really liked to talk to her. after that she moved to my town, some other cute villagers moved there too, but Wendy was always my favourite. but one day, i was on hurry, and i was talking to wendy. i keep pressing A, and suddenly, she asked that is it ok to her move out of the town. i accidentally pressed yes, and next day, i saw a sad surprise. she had moved..
i was heart broken, and reseted my town... i couldnt live without my little wendy in my town ;_;

this happens all the time so many people can relate. but don't be sad as this can fixed by searching for the villagers you want at the villager trading plaza section: http://www.belltreeforums.com/forumdisplay.php?85-Villager-Trading-Plaza

you can ask for specific villagers on The Official Looking for/Trading/Buying Thread here http://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?112564-The-Official-Looking-for-Trading-Buying-Thread

keep checking the plaza and hopefully you'll find the villagers you want, and in the case of Lobo you can sometimes find him as a giveaway. else people will ask for either in game bells, tbt bells or a trade with another villager, but you have to make sure you have a space left for another villager as the maximum popularity in new leaf is 10 villagers

My one wwas anger. I had 9 slots left and was saving my 10th spot for Rosie when she camps. A few weeks later, and Rosie had still not shown up. I waited for about a month later until I got a camper. I was hoping it was Rosie...and it wasn't. It was Charlise the snooty bear. I sought of gave in and thought Charlise was ok, so I let her move in. A coup,e of days later Charlise moved in and well...was snooty. The next day, there was a camper. I went in the tent and...saw Rosie. I was so furious that I rage-quieted for about 3 months before I went back on. Luckily, it turned out alright and I managed to get Rosie from a friend and have been trying to get Charlise to move out, but she refuses to. Let's just say...Charlise isn't very liked...

Like some people on the forum, New Leaf is my first hands-on experience with Animal Crossing-- Y'know, release date, first town, all that. Anyway, my first friend ever was the jock villager, Snake. I did a lot of clich? stuff, played every day, talked to him quite a bunch, gave him as many perfect cherries as possible, then I stopped playing for a few days and when I got back on, he was in boxes. I was devastated. I stopped playing for, like, four months and then made a new town. Then my favorite villager was Chevre, who didn't move out on me when I stopped playing for a few weeks. I still have the save file on my laptop just in case I want to revisit.

It's rubbish when your favourite/s villager moves out, but it's not really possible to keep them for ever. Unless your gonna check in on the game every other day forever, and I'm not sure that's healthy. Tell yourself when the next game comes out you'll make it your mission to have Lobo in that Town. With any luck in the next game we can 'favourite' villagers so this doesn't happen. Imagine if our Pokemon suddenly decided to leave us, I'd be a nervous wreck, lol.
