Effective ways to stay cool in summer (without aircon)

Aircon isn’t really normal in Scotland (nor is it usually too hot to need it 😆) A good way of keeping house cooler is closing the curtains and only opening windows when it is cooler outside.
 
i don't have aircon where i live so i rely on a fan and cold food/drinks! taking cold showers also helps
