This is a thread for your dumb trade stories. I'll start.

I offered a guy a Deoxys. A Deoxys. He kept popping up a Bellsprout with the name SHINY RALTS. I showed him my Arceus. He just wanted the Ralts. I was willing to give away my Deoxys if he had a shiny. And he passed on it.

Isn't Deoxys less "valuable" now that anyone with the remakes has free and unlimited access to it, tho?

Anyway, I can't recall specific trades like that, other than the usual GTS shenanigans with people not respecting your requests. I can't even remember how many Pok?mon I had to trade away on the GTS before I got the Pichu/Pikachu with Lightning Rod that I was asking for.

I did once ask people on the game's PSS (via shoutout) to help evolve a Feebas and then someone hit me up for a trade, traded me a random Pok?mon and then showed me my Milotic and cancelled the trade. Dumb on my part, never again, and if that was deliberate, a sarcastic congrats to that person for stooping so low.

I haven't had any bad regular trades, but...does wondertrade count in this?

Cause running a wonderlocke isn't very fun (unless you're using the dupes clause ruling) due to all the wurmple, poochyena, and zigzagoon which frequent it.
With dupes clause on, I wound up wondertrading about 3-4 times in one go because I kept getting wurmple and poochyena (which I had already received in earlier trades). It's stupid and needs to stop.

Nothing more frustrating than my first encounter being a pokemon I would have loved to train up (but had to trade it due to the rules), only to get a "beginning of the game" (entry level) pokemon in return. Or worse...a magikarp.
Yes, I have had the unfortunate luck to get a magikarp (and more than once). I get that people breed them for the mega, but those breeders need to do us all a favor and just release the ones which don't have the proper IVs instead of throw them through the wondertrade.

The only excuse to wondertrade a wurmple, poochyena, zigzagoon, magikarp, or any other entry level pokemon is if a person is running a wonderlocke. Otherwise, it's stupid to not release them if they aren't desired...so, yea, I'd count it as a dumb trade.

Most legendaries are worth nothing now that they're so readily available. I've Wonder Traded Mewtwos because I was sick of seeing them clog up my PC Boxes.

I've gotten some Pokemon through Wonder Trade where I seriously don't know how their names got through the filter. I keep those.

Since powersaving and hacking of various degrees, I don't think any pokemon really have much value anymore except those that can't be GTS traded...

This lol Because there's only like 100,000 of each pokemon in the GTS anyway. Everything is common.

It's just a matter of if you're going to get someone to actually talk to you about the trade or not.

I wanted one guy's Deoxys, but he would NOT go to the party, and he VALUED the guy like said Deoxys was his childhood blanket.

Not sure that's "dumb", if I have a Pok?mon I like that's going to take some effort to get again then I aren't going to trade it away just because some guy wants it, especially not a legendary. Trades have got to be done with both the interests of both people being met. Was he saying he wanted to trade it in the first place?

i asked for HA slveon with specific moves but kept getting normal ability ones from gts. rip

You should go to pokemon forums or something and ask for a fair trade. No one on the GTS reads the notes

I think some people read the notes if they can but not everyone speaks English, I often trade my 5iv pokemon with a note that says "5iv for 5iv plz?" knowing full well I probably wont get what I want but some people surprise me by actually trading a 5iv pokemon.

I once traded a shiny whiscash that I caught myself by chance against another shiny (can't even remember which one). I get that it was fair because it was a shiny for a shiny, but I still hugely regret this as it was the first shiny I ever caught and I had actually grown quite attached to my shiny whiscash #_#

Someone gave me a Manaphy once for a 4iv Eevee reject.
Idk I thought it was cool, haha.

I gave away a shiny Eevee. For free. When I was younger.

I also accidentally traded my shiny Feebas for an Eevee ;-;

What's dumb about this? Unless he said he wanted to trade the Deoxys for something you had, nobody really needs to want to trade just because you want to.

What if the Deoxys was meticulously traded up from Gen 3? You w0ouldn't want to trade it away just because a guy wants it. (especially since you get one for Free in the post-game)

I traded away my first shiny Pokemon for a legendary that you can easily catch in the game. so wow, many cries

Once someone offered me a Xatu that might have been shiny but I didn't accept because the shiny one looks too similar to the normal one and I couldn't tell.
