here's where i'll talk about my experiences playing in my New Leaf town, Hush! this is mostly just for storing info and such, so i don't know how often i'll really update, but we'll see. you can comment if you want, i don't mind.

today i'm mostly just easing into things... it's only dream's first day as mayor after all! interestingly, i think i'm unfamiliar with most of our villagers right now. lily is familiar because she's a favourite of mine (i just love her! she's one of the only frog designs i enjoy), and i knew about twiggy, but the others are all new to me i think!
before i settled on this island, i was resetting over and over and over to get a good island+villager combination... at one point bob was part of the welcome party and i was oh so tempted to keep that island. i had bob on my island back when i played wild world as a little kid, and i loved him so much! i do have his amiibo for new horizons, but eh, just getting my favourites through amiibos isn't the same, you know? it doesn't feel earned. anyway, back to new leaf blogging.
i don't remember a lot of the mechanics of this game... it's really interesting seeing just how much i don't remember! i thought isabelle was introduced in new horizons, despite the fact that i played nh back in 2017 and should remember her! memory is so strange. but i'm having fun rediscovering things, and i'm excited for new villagers to come and go!
(technically it's 01/06/24 for me now... but it's 1am! i haven't slept yet! it doesn't count!)
we only did some very brief chores today. it was nice to just go around greeting everyone - phil moved in, so that's exciting! i love his design, but his name doesn't fit it at all, it's very funny to me. he seems cool though. one thing i'm noticing about nl vs. nh is that the villagers feel much more interactive; they have requests for you more often, and more interesting dialogue... i think the "nh villagers are too nice to you right off the bat" complaint really does have good grounds, especially after also playing nh today too. i want to earn friendship!
anyway, dream dug up a few fossils and sent some letters, that's about it really. we haven't figured out how we're going to pay off our loan yet... making bells feels a lot slower so far! but that's not necessarily a bad thing. :>
you know, i can't really remember much of what we did today...! i think we mostly just did some errands for villagers. lucky moved in, so that's exciting. oh, and we wrote letters to everyone in town - i forgot how much i used to enjoy doing that. we opened the game too late to go to any of the stores unfortunately but we did catch some bugs and fish, including a firefly which i forgot existed in the game! hard little things to catch though.
