ok ok, last island journal, i promise! this one is for our wild world save. it's so strange playing this one after playing the later games, you can really feel the difference in difficulty (earning bells is more of a grind; i understand now why past!me never paid off its loan!, controls are clunkier, etc) but i'm so fond of the style and charm of it. i like the graphics a lot and i like how cozy the game feels!

gosh, i keep forgetting to play this save! i don't think i really touched it after the first day. i was excited to see bill and lucy; i don't have much personal fondness for bill, but there's a video i remember seeing just after new horizons released of someone finding bill on an island after they'd had him in an old game, and they were SO EXCITED AND HAPPY TO FIND HIM AGAIN that it just makes me smile when i see him! lucy is just adorable. i don't remember if i've had her in a game before, but i'm fond of her. and of course: TANGY!! i don't think i liked her as a kid, i'm sure i had her on my old ww island at one point... but now? i love her. she's so so cool!
elvis and drake, eh... i hope they move out quickly LOL i'm not very fussed about them unfortunately. but i'll live!
not much happened today... we finally bought a shovel so now we can actually donate fossils to the museum! and i think we found a gyroid? or maybe that was in my nl save... memory is hard, heh. rabbit currently has pink hair and a clown nose and it's SO funny to me, it doesn't look the way i imagine them in my head at all. hopefully i'll get the rabbit hood soon though!
it's funny, i'm discovering that i remember so much more of this game than any of the others... even though i'm sure i must not have played it since at least 2015. i don't even have strong memories of playing it to begin with! and yet everything feels so familiar to me in a way that it doesn't in new leaf. it's so strange.
i think maybe rabbit has some memory issues of their own...
