So every once in a while, a new game takes over the staff here and the reports gather dust all week. It's been one of those weeks here. This week, it's the tabletop card game Dominion possessing all of us. I figured I might as well make a thread for it and maybe with a little luck we can spread this horrific disease great game across the entire forum.

Honestly, I'm not even really sure how to begin to explain the game. Basically, it's a card game where you slowly build your deck as you play the game, starting off with just a few crappy cards and morphing your deck into a grand kingdom. You build up your treasure to afford better cards and purchase them from the Shop with the eventual goal of gaining the most Victory points with Estate cards.

Yeah I'm pretty terrible at explaining these things so if you're at all interested, you can play the game yourself online for free (with the base game, expansions cost money) at http://PlayDominion.com/ I'd love to hear from others who have experience with the game already in here as well, and maybe we can discuss some basic strategy or somethin'.

I think you mean it's been taking over all the staff but one. (Reports have been dusted)

Anyway, I prefer the game without the curse cards. I think they just make everything frustrating to the point of not wanting to play all that much.

Dominion is fab! I've only had the chance to play it once, but I really enjoyed it. I admit, though, that I had no clue what I was doing - we all just kind of jumped into it woefully unprepared - but we still had a blast, despite the confusion. I'm hoping that one of these days I can get in on a proper game and finally play it the way it was intended to be played.
