Does the "I've moved out" glitch apply to void villagers?

So it just occured to me, that before i was aware of the glitch, Bunnie was apparently in my void because I kicked her out with an amiibo. I forgot the void was even a thing, and Bunnie moved into my sister's town after I dropped by there. Right now Bunnie is fine but does she have the potential to glitch? I'm worried about my poor sister! I would love any advice if y'all know. I may not reply right away, I'll be at work for another 3 hours or so after I finish my lunch break. Thanks for your time!

Sadly yes, I got a glitched Lily with an "i've moved out" sign from my friend's void :( I eventually fixed it by kicking her out with an amiibo if that'd be an option for your sister.

So I just got this “I moved out.” Thing with Pietro.
Tammi was moving out and Pietro moved into her spot, Tammi went to my friends town and Pietro’s door said “I moved out.”:( Is there any fix for this?

They need to patch this up ASAP.
I've visited quite a few towns over the past few days for trades and it would suck to get a voided villager that's glitched on top of that.

Some people have reported that time traveling, or complaining to Isabelle about the glitched villager multiple times and then TTing, or moving the villager's house has fixed it, but none of those worked for me and I wasn't even able to move Lily's house as she didn't show up as an option. The only thing that worked for me was kicking her out with an amiibo, which obviously won't be possible if you don't have any amiibo cards! I really hope this gets patched soon, it's so frustrating that so many people are having to deal with it.

Amiibo would be an option, and it's not like she wanted my void villager for her town anyways, heck she may have already kicked her. Idk. This is very helpful though, thank you!

can't believe it's still not patched, and NOW void villagers that are glitched is a possibility too. quite a lot of people are still suffering from this as if adoption is an "exploit", it's literally a part of game mechanics.

sadly this isn't all that new, my glitched lily came from my friend's void about a week ago... and the weirdest part of it is, you know the old glitch where sometimes you'd get end up with a plot saying it's reserved for (blank name)'s house and nobody would ever move in? there's only one person who i could've picked up lily from, and according to him, another one of our friends had previously gotten lily from his void and received that glitch. and then i got her too, even though she shouldn't have been in his void anymore, and got a different glitch. what a mess.

Excuse my ignorance; what's a void villager?
When someone moves into your town, if nobody adopts them they'll temporarily stay in the game's memory and go into your "void", and can end up moving into the island of anybody you visit who has less than 10 villagers--the way to clear it is to visit someone who does have 10 villagers and as such can't take your voided one. So effectively this means that if you play online pretty much at all you risk either encountering this latest glitch or giving it to someone unintentionally.

I'm not sure if this is what happened to you, but based on current theories, it seems like voids don't get cleared properly, so the game essentially tries to send out multiples of the same villager, which is a part of the glitch. For example, even if someone adopted Lily while she's in boxes, she would still be in the void. Then anyone who visits your friend's island during that time will all get glitched copies of Lily.

I think the ongoing theory is that voids don't get cleared like NL, instead they may clear after a few in-game days. Not sure if that's a glitch or a mechanic. I can imagine a working system where, your void gets cleared during a visit (either by sending out a villager or by wiping it like in NL if there isn't an open plot), but if you don't go online for a few days, your void will "time out" and clear anyway so that no one has, like, a void of 10 villagers if they move out a ton of people and never go online. But obviously something isn't working right.

oh wow, i didn't know that so much research was being done on this glitch! if it helps, what happened to me is that i had ellie naturally move out of my island and then, while having an open plot, visited my friend's island to buy turnips. i didn't try to adopt anyone, the plot was simply reserved for lily the next day and then when i was on the day where lily should've moved in it simply said "i've moved out" on her house. she showed up for celebrations and could be sent letters but otherwise didn't exist on my island. i had to force her out with an amiibo as all other suggested solutions weren't working. your theory actually makes a lot of sense imo and i hope nintendo can find a way to fix it soon.
