Does the game save after you leave the train station?

So I went to another town to adopt Fauna today. I put the game aside for a while and kinda forgot about it. Just now, I went to my campsite and a villager I liked was in there. I asked her to move to town and she said yes. Then I panicked and wondered if 2 villagers could move in on the same day. I looked it up and it said you can't, so I reset the game. I just loaded it back up and my inventory looks the same as when I left the station, but I can't remember what it was like before or not. I'm worried that my reset might have made the game forget that I asked Fauna to move in. Does the game save after you get back from a friend's town? I just want to make sure I didn't lose one of my dreamies.

The game does save when you return from a trip, however my concern would be if you overrode Fauna's request with the camper. Unless you have 8 or less villagers, whereas Fauna might move in first and then the other villager. I think that by resetting you would have cancelled your second request, though.

My suggestion would be to start up your game and create a new character (assuming you only have your mayor/space for another alternate player), set the clock to the next day, check to see whose home was plotted, then reset before saving to get rid of the new character. Hope that makes sense!
