I've been trying to get a villager out of my town for a while now and they still haven't asked to leave. I've been ignoring them in hopes that they would leave, but I've tt'ed to almost 3 months forward and everyone else BUT that villager has asked to move.

Does ignoring them make them move out faster? Or should I start talking to them and try to get them out that way?

In ACNL it is random who asks to leave. Ignoring them won't make them leave any faster unfortunately...

Yeah ignoring them won't help... I've found in personal experience that villagers you never talk to never move, and villagers you talk to a lot never move. So talk to them a few times. But then again idk apparently it's always random but it def. doesn't feel random. Good luck, getting a stubborn villager out can be sooo annoying

You can ignore them, bully them, or befriend them and it won't matter. It's completely random. Just introduce yourself to them.

In my opinion, there's really nothing to do besides just pretending he isn't there until he actually pings you to leave. Hitting them with a net won't help. In fact, it makes then want to stay on the friendship ladder

I ignore all my unwanted villagers and only Lolly seems to want to move out ;-;

I had bunnie move in last night and I only talked to her once and she pinged me this morning

I accidentally picked up agnes from my cycling town and she plotted in the worst spot. she eventually pinged me, but everyone asked me to move like 2-3 times before she finally asked to move. :/

I've found it's honestly faster to friend them. Any neighbor will want to leave faster once they're good friends with you. The only time to ignore a villager is when they've gotten your blessing to leave.

Do everything they ask and talk to them often. When the unwanted one announces they want to move, confirm their answer and don't talk to them anymore. They'll leave and you won't have to worry about them anymore.

Smug villagers are a bit trickier because even if you tell them to move when they ask, they'll change their minds about moving. With them, I always go looking for them first thing and see if they ping to move. Then I reset after I find out when they plan to leave. Then I'll ignore them until they move away on the date they planned.

Ideally, one of your other villagers will gossip about it. Once they tell you so-and-so is leaving you can just ignore the villager gossiped about.

Is she your tenth villager? If she is, then she's not likely to ever ask to move. You would have to get someone else out, then a new villager in before she would leave.

Haaa your pain, I feel it. I was having this issue with Sylvia yesterday.

I find the friendship with a villager doesn't count as much as how long they've been in your town. Sylvia moved in from my cycle town's void, and after putting her as my ninth villager when Annalise moved out, she refused to ping. Biskit and Julian didn't ping as often since they were newer as well, whereas Rosie, chief and Erik, my original villagers, pinged almost every time. Make sure they're not your tenth villager and just be patient, they will ask to move in due time :)

She WAS my 10th villager, but then I moved fauna to my cycling town and got Erik. And after a few tries of following the bamdom method, I eventually got the damn pig out. Here's hoping that plot resetting for Vesta goes well. >.<

If you want a certain villager to move create a new character use that character only to talk to the villager you want to move out just talk to them everyday for a week or more and they will be in boxes it worked for me when i wanted a certain villager to move [note dont use this new character to talk to villagers you want to keep]and if they ping dont talk to them just walk away

That's interesting! Thanks for letting me know! I'll try this out sometime. :)

im pretty sure people have stated this already lol but ignoring is the best thing. you should only introduce yourself to the villager. after that, try to avoid them at all costs

when you hit them with nets n hammers n stuff youre actually increasing your relationship with them, and unless u plan on becoming besties (which also is a method to get them to move) i dont suggest doin it :)
good luck !

As far as I know, it doesn't affect because it is TOTALLY RANDOM what neighbour asks to leave, no matter if you are a nasty mayor or the best friend anyone would want.

It doesn't work.

The game works on a Random Generator and its pretty much random whenever a villager asks you to leave.

The only personality to me that leaves quickly than any other villagers are the Uchi villagers for some odd reason.
