Does anyone else get overwhelmed by custom paths?

There's just... so many good ones. I keep putting some down, finding new ones, erasing the old ones, placing the new ones, rinse repeat up to the point I feel like I've lost out on so much actual design time.

Well first of all I'll just say that there's nothing wrong with taking a long time to decorate your island. It's not a race and decorating is the most fun part honestly ☺

With that said, after I settled on my designs I tried to stop looking at other custom path options just not to torture myself with the overwhelming amount of options out there. If you already like your current paths then maybe it's time to stop looking at other ones? Or do you feel like you aren't really "clicking" with the paths you have been trying so far?

Maybe I'm too indecisive. Also, the fact that if I lay a path down and put furniture on top, it would take so much to replace that path, so I never move on to actually putting furniture down on my island

If you replace the custom pattern, all the ones you have placed down will change to the new design in that slot. That could help you try out and replace path options way faster!

Personally I really like the process of searching and choosing path designs, they can really make an area a lot nicer

i’m thinking of switching out some paths but it will be an easy process since i can just save a new 9 tile path over my old one and it will automatically change everywhere i’ve used it.

finding good designs is easy, but deciding which ones you want to save in your limited space and use on your island is much harder and takes time, and trial and error. still, i feel like it’s worth it because it makes my island so much cuter

I haven't used any custom paths because I'm still undecided on how I want my island to look. I've been using the default paths for now. I've got some custom paths bookmarked on my PC for later.

I haven't used any custom paths because I feel like there are Way too many options and I would be completely stuck due to indecision (I also don't like how many slots they take up)! I might revisit later once my island is more set up but I'm also not a huge fan of how custom paths don't function the same way as default paths and I feel like that would really bother me eventually

I wish I could use more small individual designs (like seashells for the beach or signs) but paths take up way too much space even if I stick to the pieces I need only.

I have put down 5 custom paths all over my island till I finally found one that was the best and that I liked haha But what made it worse was because of the type of path I was replacing for my final one. The path had a funny shape to it so I couldn't just replace the existing path design slot as I would have to edit it anyway and move the flowers and bushes around it.

That said some stuff is harder to draw than others

I really like using custom paths but I get how hard they are to pick out. I had analysis paralysis for a week trying to figure out which variant of “the path” I wanted to use. Once I settled on one I stopped looking for others and searched for complimentary elements instead like little picnic blankets, signs, etc. That made it feel less stressful!

I really like the path because you can do a one to one switch with color variants and never have to move a single path piece so if you’re feeling indecisive, try “the path”!

I went for mostly using the in-game paths, but using borders to line them instead. all i have to do is to find/make borders that match the shape/position and i'm good to go. i do like the auto-replace.
