So although I know my villagers can't ACTUALLY read what I am writing to them, I still get a little kick out of writing to my villagers (the Dreamies) every other day. I make sure to make a point out of writing them letters, and seeing what I get back.
I don't just write random things though, I actually put together a nice, real letter with a present to match what I had said in the letter.
Sometimes, I'll also write to them when they ask me to go to their house and I forget. I'll feel bad and write a letter to them saying I'm sorry even though they don't understand.

I already posted there, but I wonder if it'd be okay to post the same thing here since no one read that. I'll change some of what I said around. I send them letters, but not as much as I used to; and I used to send them presents too, but then I got tired of it and I only bought furniture for awhile and sent it in letters because I was trying to upgrade all of the Nooklings's shops. Usually my letters are just "Hi. How are you?" or just "Hi;" but sometimes I write down what I'm feeling since I'm trying not to confide in my friends so much (my pessimistic thoughts) so I don't annoy them or burden them. I don't have to worry about burdening video game characters with my thoughts since they always are happy to get my letters. I have depression, so sometimes it's fun getting a really cheerful response from Puddles or Punchy (my favorites so far).
I do! I write my villagers when they just move into town (I'll also send them an apple too, although they usually just end up giving it back), when they come over to my house upon request (not when they just randomly barge inside!), if I miss their Birthday, and if they send me a letter and request a reply.
every two weeks I write all of my villagers a letter
I have four characters in my main town and letter writing is "devited" amongst them, meaning: mayor writes to 4 villagers, character one writes to two other villagers and so on...; so all villagers get at least one letter every two weeks
I write lots of letters to my villagers. Mainly it's just to welcome them to town and to thank them for visiting my house or inviting me over to theirs.
I've been working on my letter writing badges. It's more fun to write actual letters to my villagers than send them weird things. I reply to mailed gifts with a thank you letter, and random letters with one of my own! c:
I actually like to write letters to my favorite ones. I love to imagine them having bad memories and maybe they DID read my letter but just don't actually remember what was said LOL.
I loved writing to Diana, since she was one of my original villagers in my first town. Though, I'd get super embarrassed when I realized she was showing the letters to my other characters in the town at the time.
