Do you unlock new things if you have a 4 star island?

I got a 4 star island yesterday. I thought you unlocked new things then but I don’t see anything. Do you unlock new things on a 4 star island and if not how do you unlock new things or do you have all the things on a 3 star island.

To unlock the DIY recipe for the golden watering can and have the lily of the valley grow on your island, you need a 5 star rating. This is unfortunately near impossible to get. I’ve been working my butt off on terraforming and redesigning my island since January. Even after all of this work, I’m still stuck at a stupid 4 star rating. Isabelle’s obnoxious opinions about my island needing more trees and flowers is beyond frustrating. I already have over 200 flowers planted, and there are plenty of trees. I’ve been planting more trees, but I’m still stuck at a 4 star rating. I’ve been trying to get a 5 star rating since August 2023. This is how long it’s taking. I feel like I’m never gonna get the 5 star rating.

Hate to break it to you, but trying to get a 5 star rating is one of the most difficult and frustrating tasks that I’ve ever done in a video game. (It’s even worse than the TOTK boss fights of Mucktorok and Ganondorf.)

5 stars is more just a self achievement for your island, then anything. You would expect it to be where K.K preforms, but that's only at three. Which I think negates the idea of trying to get five stars.

Your villagers won't celebrate like they do on your birthday, all you get is a watering can, and I'll be honest after planting flower, after flower its probably the last thing you would want to see, or be given.

Islands don't nessesarly have to look sheek, and elegant to get five stars. It just requires a certain amount of decore/items and flowers. I watched this one YouTuber who got a five star island after he placed twenty coffee makers, and a bunch of camp fires on his island. So the whole expectation to make a stunning paradise is kinda misguiding when placing twenty coffee makers, and putting fences on your beach also works.

The game is just coded to give a five star rating once a certain amount of requirements are achieved. Which can be In whatever way your heart desires.

So just keep doing what your doing, and you'll get there.
