i like decorating my home and island otherwise i feel id get bored of nh really quick.
I'm opposite, I think it would be boring to TT and get everything quicker. Yes there's stuff I still want, and would like to have now, but I don't mind waiting and in the meantime I can continue improving parts of my island. That's not boring to me.

I don't, especially not with seasonal DIYs. I want to wait to get them and I'm trying to avoid spoilers. The most I've done was buying a winter item (not the DIY) from someone on here.

No I have not so far, but I am sort of considering it since I am getting bored with the current furniture options and want the mushroom and ice stuff.

I only tt forward/back a day or two (always by accident) the most and then I return to the normal day. I do farm some npcs for their items but I don’t tt forward or backward further than this. I had been considering doing it for the winter diys, but I ended up deciding against it since I want to experience the season naturally.

To be honest, I'd be more tempted to just buy the DIY from someone here because after getting the cherry, bunny, and summer diy from balloons, I don't want to do that anymore. It's not really that fun. I'd rather they be something you have to work for through effort and not hoping a balloon gives you the right rng.

Not me. For me, time travelling or purchasing the items I want online would be the equivalent to using the money cheat on the sims. It would give me a couple of days/weeks of fun to be able to have easier/faster access to bells, nook miles, villagers, etc, but after that, I wouldn't find much point to playing because I'd then already have it all, you know? There wouldn't be anything left for me to work for. And I want to make this game last longer than just a couple weeks, so I'm someone who unlocks things on my own at a natural pace. If it takes me a couple months to find that super special item I have my heart set on, then it'll be all the more exciting when I finally do get it.

I don't have any personal rules against time traveling, but I've been taking the game one day at a time since launch. I've time travelled like twice I think and that was just within the same day because some event like the fishing tourney conflicted with my work schedule.

Heck, I'm even currently moving my rocks to specific places and I haven't time travelled. Very long and inconvenient process lol

Yeah back in autumn I tt’d to spring cause I don’t like the look of the game when it’s in that season. I was trying to get the spring diys but didn’t get many. But now that I’m in spring as im from the Southern Hemisphere as soon as I get the diys I’m going to tt back to autumn to get all the diys I missed haha

I never time travel but I'm not above benefitting off of my bf who does haha. But normally I just buy from my own catalogue and wait for the next day. I kind of like the anticipation of waiting! For diy's, I prefer to get all the seasonal ones naturally just from my own island. I also have a second character so that helps with a lot of stuff like the mermaid series, since I got to see Pascal twice a day. For regular diy's I just island hopped to find the ones I needed from villagers crafting. I completed my diy collection this way and all I need are the seasonal ones. I never have a hard time finding them. For the summer ones, I got everything within 3 days. So I don't really find it necessary to time travel.

Yep! I'll be heading back to November soon to get more mush DIYs. I just think they're too cute to wait for ☺

It's funny- I've seen some people who are like "no, that's cheating, just trade with other people" but... to me, TRADING for the DIYs feels more like cheating? I mean, I'd NEVER judge people who do. As long as you're not trying to mess up someone else's game there's no wrong way to play. But I don't want a DIY I haven't "earned" by finding it myself. I'd rather TT and find the DIYs and ingredients myself, because then it feels like more of an accomplishment to get them. But I'm also impatient, and TT anyway (it's been a major part of my gameplay since the original GC version of AC) so it's not a big deal at all to me. I think I was in college (started playing in grade school/junior high) before I realized some people actually JUDGE TTers (which is so dumb- just play how you wanna play!) Plus, if I get the mush DIYs now, I will able to dedicate actual November to enjoying the Harvest Festival! I know some people hated Bunny Day, but I LOVED it, and was just a little bummed it overlapped with the cherry blossom season because it made it a little harder to fully enjoy both.

I time travel, it has been my standard style of play since the GameCube game in 2002, but I don't do it in the hopes of acquiring specific items or DIYs. I don't really get my hopes up that the in-game shops will have particularly great, new offerings even with my regular time travel (a lot of the same stuff, like certain shoe styles, can show up a lot) and am just kind of pleasantly surprised if I see something nice. Basically the same for DIYs, I've gotten so many repeats of stuff that I expect it as normal and am pleasantly surprised if I get something I actually hadn't learned yet.

I guess there is an exception in that I stayed in June for a while to collect more Wedding items since I had plans for some of them, particularly the candles. I haven't gone into the future though since I don't want to outpace the updates they roll out.

If there's something I really want in particular, I'll just check out the Nook's Cranny section of the forum and hope I can find whatever it is. More often than not, I'll find it eventually.

I’ve time traveled a bit, to fit villager move outs around my schedule, but never more than a week ahead or back.

I don’t play other games (saw that was part of the original question) but so far I haven’t gotten bored or impatient. I’ve traded once on here to catalogue the other surfboards, but otherwise I haven’t been frustrated with the items I have available. This is my first ac game, so I think in a way it is a blessing, I don’t miss any specific items.

I have thought about time traveling to spring in order to get cherry blossom stuff, or trading for it on here, since I started my game after that. But silly as it sounds I feel bad ‘leaving’ my villagers for long enough to do it and also the time traveling I have done has been stressful (for no apparent reason) and kind of given me a weird, anxious, rushed feeling. so the bigger TT plans are on hold for now.

i haven’t and don’t intend to. however, i was way too impatient to try and obtain the rare diys/items myself so i traded for/bought most of them lmaoo >_<

i did, however, tt once to catch a shark if that counts :P

I haven't TT'd for any reason, and that includes trying to get seasonal DIYs and other items. It is a nice pace for me and also nice since, for example, I can look forward to collecting and making all the autumn DIYs right now, whereas that wouldn't be possible if I went and got them way ahead of time.

I haven't time traveled out of season because I like to have something to look forward to. :) I feel like if I get all the seasonal diys and experience the seasons in a flash, I'll get bored. Also I hate roaches.

I do really want the mushroom stuff already!

I have not time traveled yet, but might do so in the winter. I started playing after the cherry blossom season, so I might tt back to that in winter as I do not like January/Februari irl. I will give me something cheery and fun to look forward to in those dark/gloomy months :)

Not quite. I tend to get DIYs really easily, be it balloon prezzies, villagers crafting, or the DIYs in the bottles. I've noticed I get around 2-3 DIY bottles a day.

The mushroom DIYs are gorgeous. (It's been autumn/fall here in Australia, when the game first came out.) However the wand doesn't look...right.

I am considering TTing to November to get some maple leaves. I really don't that those items are at the end of the season. I like to seasonally decorate certain parts of my island and if I wait for November to come the season will almost be over.
It doesn't help that I have a couple of recipes now that need maple leaves.
