Since Viche and Cece are heavily based on the Squid Sisters, I'm surprised they made Viche a normal. Going off of Marie's personality, I don't think she fits as a normal at all. I think it would have made more sense to make her a snooty. "But they're fans of the squid sisters!" They still made Cece a peppy, which heavily coincides with Callie's personality. The normal neighbors are really considerate of your feelings, and are more of the sweet and shy type of neighbors. The snooty villagers on the other hand, are a little more rude towards you. I think that fits perfectly with Marie, which is why I think it would have made more sense to make Viche a snooty. Your opinion on this?

I was surprised when I found out she was normal, it definitely doesn't fit well. I feel like a lot of the new villagers should have different personalities...
I kind of wish Chelsea and maybe ?toile were peppy villagers. I think Tasha could've been Uchi as well.

Yeah, I don't think they picked the right personalities for a lot of the new Amiibo villagers. I was surprised they made Vich? a Normal.
And while we're on the subject, I don't think W. Link should've been a smug. I feel that Lazy would have been a better fit for him. After all, Link NEVER wants to wake up in the games. XD

I feel that they got her personality wrong. She fits in better as a snooty to contrast Cece's upbeat personality, similar to how Callie is upbeat and Marie is pessimistic.

I have to disagree about Link since once he awake up, he doesn't try to go lazing once again and considering his athletic prowers he would fit for a jock.
But smug is technically a mix of personalities so it's not a real problem.
I don't play Splatoon, but cosplayers would be usually fit in the peppy personality and not the normal villagers who are often neutral about hobbies for most of time which might be weird for Vich? being a normal.
There are people who complain about Cece and Vich? being squirrels and not octopuses but most people, myself included, find the octopus species rather ugly and would not even bother to buy Callie and Marie amiibos.

Yeah I think a lot of the species need more personality balance. There's no smug cat, no peppy wolf, no snooty bear, etc. There seems to be TONS of jock lions & tigers, too? Unless I'm just totally off. But I know there's like 4 or 5 cranky wolves, which is kind of nuts lol

I considered that as well. But once again, the uchi ones look out for you. Not to mention they're more into comics and slinging turf... Can't see Marie doing either XD Not to mention they're a little more on the wild side and Marie is more reserved.

I'm actually fine with Punchy being lazy. I mean, he was lazy ever since the GCN Animal Crossing (he was absent from Animal Forest N64) and smug didn't exist back then (then again some villagers had slight personality changes in New Leaf). His eyes kinda have a lazy vibe to them too. Maybe Felyne should've been smug?
Nah, Felyne couldn't be a smug. The Felynes in Monster Hunter are responsible for cooking in most hubs, and they fall asleep often. Lazy villagers love to talk about food so it fits extremely well!
Anyway, I think too many of the new amiibo villagers have the normal personality. They're like everywhere. I like normals but too many is just bland and overwhelming.

I've never played Monster Hunter (I'm sorry, kill me for having such a sin) but thanks for the info! Maybe they should just make a new smug cat altogether in the next game. Also I agree on how too many of the returning villagers have the normal personality. Also all of the returning sheep seem to be female too so now there isn't a variety of male sheep (why didn't they bring back Woolio?! Instead they brought back Cashmere -___-).

Lol, no need to apologise! It's kind of a niche series in a way. I agree, Woolio would've been fab had he been brought back. He's so unique, I love his design.~
I don't play splatoon, but I feel like they got the personalities off for a few of these new characters. I don't think smug fits W.Link and they shouldn't have changed Dobie from a lazy to a cranky. We have enough cranky wolves.
