Perhaps the release new of the Sanrio cards being redone means new cards for the new villagers and other prints of the forgotten 56 villagers that didn't make the cut.

I don’t think Serena or Harley are making it.
there’s just no plaza fountain for Serena or Farley. They didn’t make it to new leaf and there wasn’t a fountain either.

Kaitlin an Katie maybe, since we still have online.

Shrunk possibly if we get club lol. Maybe a section inside the museum? Like when Brewster was inside the museum in previous games. They could do a tiny room for Brewster to sell coffee and a club for Shrunk and K.K.

Frillard and Tortimer are probably dead. I don’t see them coming back.

Yes i mean as cockroaches in the wild like in new leaf they were on trees xD

And yes rip Tortimer we will always have him on the marine song cover reee, give us Brewster.

I’m not expecting NPC’s like Gracie, Shrunk, and Harriet to return who’s roles have been replaced unless it’s like an event. I can see Brewster, Katrina, and maybe Tortimer/Kapp’n returning as their old roles have let to be filled in.

As for old villagers, I can see them eventually coming back, but not in the near future. Since there are 56 not yet brought back, 6 will likely not make the cut so they can have an even series of 50. I remember hearing some villagers like Bow and Meow were made for some toy company that is no longer relevant, so I’d imagine them not coming back.
