Do you think amiibo characters will ever make a return?

I was thinking about this recently, and I know the fanbase was very 50/50 on them; some loved the idea of characters from Zelda and Splatoon being in the game, while others HATED it (and I get why, it's not canon). I personally LOVED it; Epona and Wolf Link were great, but Medli looked a little off. Given the fact that Nintendo is making this game rely on updates, do you think they'll ever make a return?

I doubt all of them will return. Felyne being gone is a huge loss for me and would have him over Punchy any day. However, seeing how he was part of a Monster Hunter cross over I doubt we will see him again.

We will likely see W.Link again when Breath of the Wild 2 comes out.

I'm hoping they'll do another collab with Sanrio and bring back those villagers.
