My family really wasn't worried about it that much. But I remember watching an episode of 7th Heaven (remember... this is the 90s people!) and someone was all freaking out over it. And the news people were all telling us to get ready and all.

You know... buy cans, propane, batteries, etc.

Oh, but I'm also curious, who has know idea what I'm talking about?

i remmeber

people were scared all the comps wouldnt be able to recognize 2000, but would go back to 1900, and then the effects from it would be disastrous... turned out to be very minimal.

Ah yes, I remember that. Now it's that 2012-world-ends superstition.

Although, the Maya did predict a new world or something in the year 2012, and that's an oddly specific year...

I don't know about 1900, it was just that they (computers) wouldn't know what to do with the year "00".

That's when their calendar ended. They didn't predict anything.

No, I remember something else about 2012 and the Maya other than just their calendar...

Yeah, I remember this. My parents had some stuff in storage.... just in case.

My Name Is Earl had a HYSTERICAL episode about this... I haven't seen it in a while though.

Oh yeah, I remember. My dad didn't think anything serious was gonna happen, though, and obviously, that was the case.

Anyone with any free mind that dosn't listen to just what the TV said, knew that it was not gonna be big.

But before I go on a rant about the news I'm gonna stop. : D

But yeah, my family was not worried at all.

And if the end of teh world happens, its not like you can do anythign about it.

I think it was something about like in their religion they believed a god would come and create a new world or something and that's why their calendar only goes to 2012...

I just remembered a book I used to have. A dog's some secret spy dog that can type and stuff, and saves the world from Y2K... It was weird, but I liked it.

... Why didn't people just set the year/time on a bunch of computers to test it?!?!?
