Is it necessary to have all personality types in your town? My main town has all of them and I like that but the problem is my second town. The one jock I like is in my main town and I don't want him twice. I know they all unlock different pwps etc and the perfectionist in me says I want to get all of them but this seems pretty unrealistic. I'm struggling for a jock villager in my second town whereas I have plenty of other villagers I'd rather have. Do you guys have all personality types? or do you think its necessary to have them all?

I don't. For me, I just think anyone I like is in my town. I could have a ton of snooties and I'm still okay.

I always have all eight of the personality types in my town, plus an extra male and female to make all ten. I like having it this way because then it gives the town more of a personality and give more of a variety, so yes, I think it's necessary. Also, I understand how you feel. I don't really like too many jock villagers myself, so if I had two towns, it makes it harder to choose.

I've actually seen some people on here in their signatures have like an all girl villager town or male villager town, so really it's up to you if you want all personality types. :)

Yes, it makes my town feel complete that way. I don't want to miss out on an entire personality's worth of dialogue, so I have to have them all.

I prefer to have all of the personalities, plus one extra male and one extra female so that I have 5 of each gender. It's important to me to experience all of the different dialog, plus they all have at least a few PWPs that I like. But that's just me. If you really don't feel a need to have a jock in your town, then you don't have to. And if you want the PWPs, you can always keep a jock temporarily until you unlock the PWPs you need and then move them out in favor of another villager that you like better.

You don't necessarily need them all, but I prefer it. At the moment I only have Uchi, Peppy, Smug, Snooty, Normal, Lazy and Jock. I'm missing a cranky so I am missing out on the cuteness of cranky villagers.

The only real reason to have all personality types is to obtain personality-specific PWP projects. Other than that it's really up to preference. Most people choose villagers based on their looks, colour themes, house themes, etc. so sometimes not all personalities will apply to their criteria. In my towns I try to have one of each just for the variety in dialogues. I don't like having more than two of the same personality types in one town either.

Well, i don't mind having all of the personality types in my town since i already have. The dialogues are more vary with all of them present

I'm not too fussed about having all of the personalities in my town. However, I do like a variety so that I don't get too sick of the same phrases and personalities. I once had a town that was all normal villagers, not even on purpose (long story about how that happened lmao) and it was the worst :( Normal personality is now suffice to say my least favourite...

I don't think I would really want all personality types in my town, however I would probably need them for pwp suggestions.

If you want all the pwp's then yes you do at some point. Otherwise I keep different to have some variation since honestly the personalities are so bad in NL and they tire you easily with their repetitive dialogues imo.

Not really the biggest snooty and lazy fan though so those I basically keep for pwps lol

I mean, if you prefer to have more variety in your town and also looking for certain PWPs, then I
guess it's more recommend to have different personality types. Although I know people who like
it more to have villagers with the same personality around them. I for myself preferred it more to
have a town with various personalities, as it's nice to have different dialogues as well as getting a
higher chance to get the PWPs I wanted. But I didn't mind having two villagers which are the same
in my town, this was actually all the time the case if I had 10 villagers in the town.

It is necessary to access Public Works Projects for one?s town. But, if you develop a town to a point in which you are satisfied, than having all eight Villager Personality Categories will no longer be necessary. I reached that point with my first town, Applewin, and it does not have a Cranky or a Snooty.

It's not unrealistic to acquire all of the Public Works Project suggestions from your villagers if you utilize the diving trick and have patience. If you want access to all of the Public Works Projects in case you should ever want one of the PWPs from a personality you don't necessarily like that much (in this case, Jock apparently), it would be better to adopt a Jock now, get all of their PWP suggestions, then wait for them to leave and replace them with a villager you like. Even if you don't think you'll use some of them, it is better to give yourself that option in the future.

In case you need a quick explanation of the diving trick, what you do is fill your inventory with junk, be it flowers or bells (no furniture or clothes or anything the villagers might want to buy), put on a wet suit, go swim in the ocean for 5-10 minutes, come back into town and wander around trying to find a villager who will ping you (when they approach you quickly and look really happy so that you'll talk to them about something). Ideally you would know where the villager whose PWP suggestions you want is in your town at the time so you can try to make it to them before any of your other villagers see you. It's not foolproof, as sometimes the villager you want to ping isn't the one who will, or sometimes they just have other dialogue, or they say that it's been a while and you ought to save and not to overdo it. If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. With enough persistence, you'll be able to get all of the PWPs this way.

That's how I've gone about things in my towns. I like to have all of the personalities at least at one point in time to get all of those PWP suggestions, but once that's done I would replace whoever it was that I was keeping just for that with other villagers who I liked more. My towns have themes they're based around, so sometimes it just happened that none of the villagers who were a certain personality matched up with the town, or others just did so better.

I usually cycle through the villager types because certain personality villagers will give you certain town project ideas

I would just move in any jock villager long enough to get their pwps and then boot them
I always do this for uchis since I love their pwps but I can't stand to have them in my towns. You could try doing the same.

Yes and no? I have more than one town, in one town I'd prefer to have all types, and in the other town I just enjoy any move-ins who I come across. It's because I'm not a very eager mayor in terms of planning out PWPs or landscaping, I think.

I think it is necessary to have each villager personality type if you want to unlock all the PWPs, but if you don't care about them that much, then you don't really need all villager types.

I struggle to maintain a balance myself, as I tend to get more peppy villagers to move in than any other type and I hardly get any jocks to move in, making it harder to unlock other types of PWP. Still waiting to get a Windmill and Zen Garden plus a few others. All I keep getting pinged for so far is nickname suggestions and flower quizes. :(

I’ve got two towns myself, but my first one has become somewhat of a helper to the second. At the moment I’m at nine villagers and the villager I was desperately trying to get rid of (due to inconvenience of house placement) is finally moving. I’ll have two spaces soon, so I took the opportunity to check through all of the PWPs that I like and write down what personality type they come from.

I’ll be missing snooty and lazy. The villager moving is Drake the Lazy duck and I still need two lazy pwps suggested so I’ll need another lazy villager. I only need the Statue fountain suggested by a snooty villager, but I also want more snooty than not. Even then, I have no jocks and I don’t intend on getting one as I don’t care for any of their PWPs :p

And I love me the Uchi villagers, aaaah, I want all the Uchis! I’d probably fill my town up with Uchis and Smugs given the choice. We shall see if my town evolves to that later, lol.
