Most of my houses are public buildings.
I have a hospital, hotel, funeral house, and a school.
I kind of feel like I need to include some sort of bathroom there. There need to do this is BIG. However there aren?t many bathroom items available. Do you guys include bathroom in your public houses?

I know many people create schools and hotels , diners and such, what do you do for bathrooms?

I don't really feel the need to do it with every building. For instances where I do not have a bathroom, I like to imagine that it is somewhere else inside the building, but is simply not accessible by the player.

After all, most villagers do not have bathrooms, or beds in their houses, yet they seem to function fine. I imagine them having a small attic or room by the door that the player simply has no need to ever be in.

It does bother me a lot if I don’t have one... but I do have a public building without one. In fact, most of my residents have one in my main town. I have a camping lodge house next to my actual campsite... that one has like a dingy “public” bathroom and washing area in the basement. The bed and breakfast has a very well equipped bathroom/spa. Of course, my mayor has one (but hers is not a public building) The only building that doesn’t have one is my cafe... I guess they gotta run into the woods to do it. I understand if not all buildings have one... but I get really uncomfortable if I visit a completed town and not one of the residents have a place to piss I mean come on. Designing bathrooms has to be my favourite room to design though so I might be biased.

In my new town I plan on making one general spa (other than my own bathroom) that everyone can use because I rather free up room space for other facilities.

I admit that I don't get hung up on the necessities of life when I'm designing houses in the game. I only add bathrooms and kitchens if I have a plan for them and know that I will enjoy them aesthetically.

In real life, my kitchen and bathroom are my least favorite rooms and are only used when necessity demands. So, in the game, I don't usually feel like creating such utilitarian rooms. If I were doing your public houses, I definitely think I'd add a bathroom in the hospital and maybe in the school. I don't think I'd put one in the funeral home or the hotel (I visualized tiny hidden bathrooms off of each room in the hotel).

But that's just my opinion and if it bothers you, then by all means add them. I've seen some very nice bathrooms and they can make an impact if done well.

Daaamn. (@▽@;

This may be kind of some resembling to what dizzy bone said though.
What I know as a bathroom in those places is a large luxury space. That has a few or more desks & mirror for redo makeup, on which there are nice basic cosmetics, cotton balls, toothbrush, etc. along with nicely decorated flowers. Also there are spaces to relax that has couches and side table ( to put the bags on ) and sometimes it has bathtub.
So. I'd make a building like that, for the purpose of necessity and relax for the visitors to those whole public buildings.

Personally, bathroom is my very favorite room in real life.

Added a bathroom/spa/massage room in my museum when a villager mentioned there wasn't one at retail.
The bathtub is big and can be redone.

Later I added a bathroom in the mayor house. It's a Cabana bathroom with a lot of plants.
3rd Player has a pink bath/dressing/laundry room. Used a lot of the Sanrio and Welcome Amiibo items to fill the room.

If I would do a spa or restaurant, then I would add a bathroom. I saw in some dream towns
people who did either a spa, restaurant or also a hotel and had some nice looking bathrooms.
I would do however a small bathroom when it comes to a restaurant and a bigger one when it
comes to a spa or hotel. Besides the typical bathroom items, I would use items such as plants,
parts from the Minimalist series or Mermaid series or items which I think they would fit in general.

I wouldn't say that if I would make a school that I would add a bathroom. I would use more the
space to make classrooms with different themes, like a normal one, a art class, a gym etc.

I think I might add something and make it look slightly like a bathroom. I really don’t want to add a huge bathroom area though because it won’t maie sense in my houses ( my houses have have only the main room big , and all other rooms are very Tiny or slightly expanded.. but not all the way. So an overly large bathroom wouldn’t make sense.

I feel a strong need to do this is houses resembling hotels, restaurants, and stores. However, I do not include one in my own house. Ironic. I know. I didn’t say I made any sort of sense, haha.

Haha, I'm the opposite, I feel like I can't make a bathroom because all my rooms are the max size! I feel like the 4x4 or 6x6 would work better for a bathroom.

I think if your house is a public building, then you can just say that the halls connecting the rooms also lead to a bathroom, and that you're just getting a glimpse of the full building. Someone viewing it probably wouldn't even notice if there were no bathrooms, except maybe in one house, but it'd almost definitely be weird for there to be a bathroom in every house, especially since you probably won't be able to manage much variation.

Usually I'll stick a bathroom in all of my houses, but that's because I've never made any public buildings out of them - they've always been residential. Now I'm considering a spa/onsen type bath house since bathrooms do take up an extra room in my private houses, which can be a little disappointing if I have a specific theme or idea in mind, haha

Yeah when I had just villager houses for some reason I always used to include bathroom, it now that I’m making just public places , I can’t seem to find the space on where to place them lol
Too many ideas going on, but too little space.
