Do you feel like you're grinding more in this game than in previous games? Do you enjoy it or does it burn you out?

Not really because the method for farming tarantulas/scorpions is too much work for me in my opinion. Plus, I don’t really mind having to work my way up getting a lot of bells. I’m just taking a relaxed approach to playing the game and while I like to complete everything, taking time to do it feels so good.

I have a better understanding of the stalk market in this game now, after only a few months of playing, versus when I was playing NL. I never harnessed it properly in the previous game, but in this one I have taken full advantage. About once a month I get a REALLY good turnip price and I've been using basic economic sense to make sure it's always a pretty big payday. I've made a good amount of money that way.

I've also made a lot just from selling to Flick or CJ, however this is slower, because I have yet to find any of those summer bug Nook Miles islands or the shark one. I just accumulate them over the fortnite between each Flick/CJ visit and sell them then. I make a good chunk of change from this method too.

However, I feel like things are most expensive in this game. Some regular furniture items are nearly if not more than 100,000 bells! So I think it balances itself out. I don't have nearly as much in savings here than I did in the old game because I'm actually spending it. If not on furniture for ordering things for people in my shop, it's for buying more paint kits, tools, and etc.

I actually really like the in-game economy this round. Even the more expensive items. I wouldn't do anything to make money in New Leaf, because I had like 40 million bells and nothing to actually spend it on. Having to continually buy bush starts / tree saplings / customization kits / tools helps a lot. So does the weird pricing of the items, which just seem more realistic I suppose, as I was always a little put off by the lack of price range between items such as a toilet and a 50 inch flatscreen.

I used to grind in the game and found it very frustrating because it took so much time. I really didn't enjoy it and found it a barrier and unmotivating for me to want to get anything done on my island. Although the game play would definiteyl be a lot longer of I did that instead of doing turnips. Now I use turnips and I am so much more happier that I don't grind! It's a lot more fun to go bug catching or fishing because I do those things intentially as opposed to feeling like I need to do them to make bells :D so it's great :)

It was sure "very grindy" hunting those seasonal DiYs that involved popping balloons. I wouldn't say I got burned out, but it was pretty tedious to do since I've gotten several duplicates apart from getting a set of clay, iron nuggets, random bells and furniture as I open those "gifts". Everything was worth it in the end though.

Hmm, I guess getting crafting materials is a another thing entirely. But I tend to go on a quick run for something I specifically need, rather than just stockpiling.
And I've occasionally been grinding for mermaid DIYs, but diving is fun and I do it inconsistently, so it doesn't feel the same.
