Do you consider it a spoiler or a helpful hint?

I've been getting "cold" reactions to some of my questions. Then I was wondering, since I have two games going and one is currently in December, is it ruining it for you if I post a question on how to do something or what to expect or say that something neat happens?

Something happened today and I'm freaking out but don't want to ask and have been unable to find in google searches.

So do you want people in the future to be quiet???

I think the best approach is to assume no one wants spoilers. If you are that far ahead then either try finding an event walkthrough or work it out. I don't care about spoilers myself but some people do.

Nah, I don't get why someone would give you a cold reaction to stuff like that. Finding out about events or cool things that will happen just gives me more stuff to look forward to.

What happened today that you're freaking out about? o:

We'll I have two replies and each different so I will not state what happened. As a side note I intentionally started the game in advance so I could enjoy the holidays since I will have lots going on IRL. And yes I've been catching snowflakes like crazy and having tons of fun.

I actually enjoy finding out all the cool things I will get to do in the future. Please keep sharing. I find that sometimes the outcome can be different every now and then as we all have different town folks. I enjoy time traveling at the moment as I really want new folks in so the spoilers gives me a choice to go to instead of a random date.

Honestly I don't understand why people would be getting upset over someone asking a question about something that happens a month or two ahead of them. Animal Crossing isn't a game with heavy plot. |: There's really not anything to 'spoil' in my eyes. With a game like this, I'd rather know what to expect so I don't screw up and have to wait a whole year to try again since I don't time travel.

I don't mind if people know stuff in advance. It definitely helps to have someone with the knowledge of certain events so that for those who don't TT, when they get to the event, they can ask about what to expect and get some help. It definitely helped for the Halloween event. Plus, knowing what is to come makes me look forward to it even more.

I admit that I purposely TTed forward to finish my bug, fish, and diving collections and then again to do the Harvest Festival since I know I can't do it on the actual day. So I know a few things of what the future in the game is gonna be like. It's cool and I don't think there's really much to be "spoiled" about.

I also don't mind, especially if the thread is labelled as containing spoilers.

Anyway, many people must have TT'd all the way thru...I mean, look at all the guides out there! I'm sure we all have a clue about some stuff we haven't played yet just by browsing.

Now...PLEASE tell us why you are freaked out! I'm dying to know! The people who don't want spoilers don't have to read it. :)

I see it same as you^^

If you choose to play ahead of time you should accept that you can't always receive help in events that local-time players don't have yet. Imagine if tomorrow half of the active forum users suddenly starts a discussion on how to make the perfect sized snowman (for whatever reason you'll find out in December). I don't disapprove changing your date, but it would be a silly situation.

But than again, you can't prevent Eurasian-timezoned players from spilling event detailes before American-timezoned players are able to attend them. Perhaps we should all just be discreet with event spoilers. The forum has a hide-function for that reason so let's utilize it. :D

i don't mind at all! especially if it has to do with a furniture set or something. i like to know ahead of time if i need to collect anything or obtain anything to collect the entire set :D but i can see how some people would like the entire game to be a 'surprise' of sorts, so they can figure everything out along the way. it's just personal preference really.

Fair enough, but in the OP she (he?) didn't say otherwise. She only asked if those of us here prefer her keep quiet or not.

I consider it Helpful Hints. Just put 'Spolier' in the title, so those people who don't want to know something can avoid it. I like knowing what is coming up and how to prepare for it. Thanks in advance for all the helpful hits you give us.

I don't find it to be spoilery at all... Just useful. I like to know what I'm doing ahead of time before jumping into it, so keep giving advice!

I prefer not to know too much about future events (not unless they're coming up soon), so a spoiler alert would be nice, unless it's obvious that a thread is going to be about future events. I don't mind people talking about them at all, and honestly, I'd probably throw caution to the wind and read those threads anyway because I'd be interested, despite what I just said :p

I really don't see the big deal with "spoilers". Most people know the sort of events coming up, and can figure out what's going on, and some people do TT to events as well. If anything, I'm glad for the hints so I don't mess it up when it comes to the actual event. For those that don't want to read anything at all to do with the future, just put "Future Spoiler" in the title or something, and then go into your thread. That way people can choose whether to read it or not. Don't refrain from posting it because some people don't like it, just make them aware before it happens, then everyone is happy ^_^
