Do villagers still ask to hang out?

I miss villagers asking you to come to their house to hang out and vice versa.. I haven't seen it yet and maybe its because I dont have enough of a friendship with my villagers, but does anyone know if this is still a thing in New Horizons?

I haven't yet gotten that request yet sadly. I'm hoping so since I've walked in on them hanging out with each other! I hope it's a little different from ACNL tho, that they ask for a time to meet. Altho I have seen the timer in the big nook stores.... so maybe...?

I agree about the time thing, I always missed our hangout sesh and theyd be so sad I'm keeping my fingers crossed they ask me to hang soon!

No but they mention things like that casually in conversation. Stitches always says things like I don’t have plans we can hang out all day whenever I come over his house. He also says things like let’s play today but it’s not like an actual invite like in NL. The only game we “played” was a treasure hunt.

Not that I've noticed.. I miss that from older games honestly.
