do villagers randomly wear other clothing?

I got Ankha from someone and she was wearing her regular dress up until .. now? she was wearing a sweater

they said she was original, and as soon as i reported Ankha she switched back to the dress. so is that shirt from THEM, or is it Ankha's in general?

Some villagers will randomly change clothes depending on what they're doing or the weather. Audie, for example, switches between at least 3 different outfits on a normal day.

understandable. Ankha WAS crafting so i can see the justification for the random sweater- she hasnt worn it again so far. i've only seen the workout/sleeping/sickness outfits so far

What hemisphere are you in? I've never seen a sweater on any of my villagers during the spring/summer months.

Have you done any delivery requests to Ankha? They will wear items from delivery requests too.

Other options are the person had a custom design up and Ankha grabbed that. I guess it could be possible to think she was original and not notice she nabbed a design.

If you posted a pic I'm sure someone could identify if it is a custom design or not.​

The other person might not have realized they gifted Ankha clothing. One of my villagers asked me to deliver a package to O'Hare, so I did, and it turned out to be a black crop top. Then he always wore the stupid shirt :/ I had tried so hard to not gift clothes.

To me that sounds like a custom design then (or the other person being forgetful) I've seen villagers have tank tops, sports jackets, raincoats and pyjamas in northern hemisphere but never a sweater.

I can't vouch for if they wear sweaters in winter, but that shouldn't matter unless you've TT'd to winter.
