Do tarantulas usually spawn in the same area?

I've been trying for days on end to catch myself a tarantula (using TT, obviously). I finally spotted my first one this morning by my campsite, but he despawned before I was able to catch him.

So my question is this- is it better for me to just continually Save+Continue and look only at the campsite? Or should I just wander around my entire town after each refresh.

When you save+continue, at least one nice *something* will spawn. It might be a shark in the ocean, a tarantula, an expensive river fish, a nice beetle or other bug. The area isn't guaranteed, so I'd wander. I have noticed they prefer area with more open space, I haven't seen them in areas tight with trees of structures.

Are Tarantulas usually close-ish to cliffs? Even if I can discount the top half of my town, that would help me tremendously. I'm so over looking for this guy.

I've had them spawn only twice for me, both times they were in the upper half of town in open-ish areas. The most recent one spawned quite close to the railroad tracks. So I don't think you can rule that area out.

For me, they spawn around the same 3 spots in my town. I got so frustrated in trying to catch this thing, I did something radical about a year ago... I cut down all my trees! That prevented all the tree bugs from spawning, leaving a higher chance for the ground bugs to spawn and it worked. It's too dramatic of a solution, so I don't recommend it. However, recently I cleared every single flower in my town (it just become crazy overgrown, lol), and it actually resulted in tarantulas spawning a lot more then usual. Don't know if it was just a coincidence, though.

They like to spawn in the worst possible places and make you miserable, though I've had success with the Town Square. A tarantula spawned right in front of me while I was chilling close to the tree and I caught it immediately. My first scorpion also spawned there, and that's when I learned that the scuttly little ******** despawn after like 5 seconds.

Yeah- I'm really hating tarantulas. I caught the scorpion on my first day looking for a tarantula, but yeah- the tarantula despawned way too quick. x.x

All three players found the tarantula in the same spot. It was behind the campsite close to the cliff.
They can spawn in other places but the campground was a favorite for both the scorpion and tarantula.
Do you have summer solstice coming up? It's bright out and easy to spot the bug. I caught my first one in my 3rd town.

I found some scorpions near the edge of my town (which leads onto the beach) and I was about to catch them buuuuut they decided to jump off of my town instead.
They didn't spawn near my Plaza, so I assume that there needs to be places without paths for them to spawn?
