Do I need to be on lockdown when my villager is in boxes?

If I'm saving a villager in boxes for a friend, may I still go to other towns to visit with no problems? I got a really nasty villager from a town that I visited that had the villager in boxes the day I went.

visiting other peoples town shouldnt be a problem.. HOWEVER, people visiting might accidentally talk to maple and she might move totheir town instead of your friends. so beware!

Good. I was scared because I definitely didn't ask the nasty villager in the town I visited to move into mine. She's lurking on my main street now.

How could you have gotten the nasty villager if they were in boxes? They would be in their house and you would have to invite them to your town. Voids are different. Just asking.

No Idea. I went to a friend's town to get bingo numbers. In a couple of days the villager showed up in my town. The villager told me she was from my friend's town. My friend said she was in boxes the day I visited.

They got the villager from the void pool. The villager doesn't have to be already voided. If you visit a town and a villager is in boxes and gets voided the next day....if you have a spot open and since you wifi'd with that person it can still come to your town.

Dangerous stuff and I had 9 villagers at the time. I was trying to keep the spot open

Yet another fact I didn't know. It stinks to be trapped in your town for fear of picking up stray villagers.
