do bushes count as fencing, trees, or both?

asking because i’m like at my max for trees and isabelle keeps saying i need more fencing but i’m honestly running out of ideas as to where to put fencing :^(

I haven't checked but I don't think they count as trees. I'm also not sure about counting as fencing since they're more like flowers. Except for the recipe TN gives you, I'm pretty sure that one is fencing

I think they count as flowers, but act as trees.

They don't count as fencing, but as shrubs, the Nook Miles calls them out specifically so I assume if you had too many shrubs Isabelle would say such. Use the hedges DIY from Tom Nook to get that natural look- they count as fencing if you are looking for more fences!.

hedges count as fencing, but i don't think bushes do! i would classify the bushes as trees bc they come from saplings? but not sure.

Yep! When you do one of the Earth Day Nook Mile+ things go speak to Tom Nook and he'll give you the hedges DIY

Isabelle doesn't count them as trees (or fences) for the star rating, but they do count as trees if you get a nook miles objective telling you to plant a tree.
