diy frustration

The game has a very frustrating way of handing out DIYs.

I've got duplicates of all sorts of things, including wands, wreaths, golden furniture etc...yet I've been playing since day one and I can't get a single firewood or butter churn DIY.

Just check the 'Nook's Cranny' subforum, and have a scroll through the threads there. I'm sure a decent amount of people are trying to sell or even give away their duplicate DIY recipes, as if you time travel, you can eventually end up with a stupid amount of recipe cards lying around your island. For me personally, my top floor, basement, and living room, aswell as big space outside of my house are all full with duplicate recipes that i'm trying to sell haha, but i'm sure it can be a lot harder to get them if you don't time travel like a lot of us do.

For sure! What I did was google a list of all diys possible. Write down which ones I wanted and then bought them on here. That's how I got mine. I got sick of waiting.

One of the first things I did when I became frustrated with the DIYs I was getting was to create a wishlist on Nook Exchange. That way I knew what I was looking for! I then started to hunt around online and on this forum and traded extra DIYs, NMT, TBT, or IGB for those DIYs I wanted. It takes soooo long before you find everything you want.

The other thing is most often people will craft stuff for you if you provide the materials! I know I do that all the time for people!

The seasonal DiYs that you get from popping balloons.That's super tedious since you will get duplicates no matter what plus another furniture, clothing, iron nugget and even clay from them.

I spent about 2 evenings on Turnip Exchange. People advertise whose crafting which diy and you go and speak to their villager. Alot of people don't charge, or just ask for tips. I found it a great way to get loads without spending much. Also I'm not sure if you know already but your villagers will be crafting 3 times a day. I can't remember the time frames but keep checking their houses at different times and they'll give them to you.

Download the ACNH.Guide app and keep track of them through there. Once you've told it that you've learned one, it removes it from your list of needs. It was the only way I could get all the normally available recipes...well, that, here, and Nookazon.
