Diver's hood

So we just received a letter from Nintendo telling us that we could get the diver's hood from Nintendo zone and that it was until now a Japanese exclusivity... if so, then why Katrina told me, at least twice, that it was my lucky item long before Nintendo made it available? Was Katrina making fun of me of what?
Well she always had the knack to suggest items I didn't have anyway...

whaaa? do you have her shop on main street? if you dont have the lucky item she recommends then she's supposed to sell you a tingle hood or a celebration hat (you have to have the purchase price on you in bells to pay tho or i don think she offers; believe its 10k, but then you can re-order cheap at nook shop if you want more)

also, the divers hood HAS previously been a JP only item.

Ah... I got the celebration hat though. What I don't understand is why she suggested me the diver's hood before it was even available for me (or in the North American game) that's why I always naively thought we could get in on main street. Perhaps she was expecting me to make friends oversea...

yeah that's interesting. i can't recall if she ever told me to grab something for luck that was unavailable in the USA game. the divers hood is a nook shop item in JP, maybe all the nook items are programmed in for katrina regardless of country. you can still get tingle hood another time (you probably have to make sure celebration hat not in your inventory when you visit her). or, send your alt characters now if you have any and see if she offers them the tingle hood.
