Ditto?

So I have been looking to get into competitive battling in Pokemon X... I have been playing Pokemon since I was 7. I have played and completed Pokemon Ruby, Emerald, Fire Red, Pearl, Platinum, Soul Silver, White, Black 2, X, and I am working on Crystal right now. I am now 14 and I feel that I am familiar with the game enough to the point where I want to get into the complexities of it, and get into competitive battles.

However, I really kind of need to start IV breeding... But I don't have a good Ditto... I don't really know how the "economy" is with Pokemon X, but I am assuming I will need something crazy to get a Ditto with decent IVs, but it really all depends. Does someone have it so Dittos will appear in their friend safari so I can get one with 2-3 perfect IVs? Does someone have one they are willing to trade? If so, what would be an appropriate Pokemon to trade for that kind of Ditto? I am still new to the more online aspects of the game but I am looking to learn, and get better. Any offers or information on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to know the in's and out's of competitive battling, you should visit Smogon. I think most of the competitive players follow their rules and regulations, and the tiering system is really good.

Pokemon Showdown is a great place to put together teams and battle others without having to spend hours and hours breeding for the correct IV's and natures in-game. If you put together a great team of Showdown, you can then start to create that team for real in your game. It helps to have a lot of battles with your team so that you get to know how each Pokemon works and the combos and tactics when coming up against different types of Pokemon teams and strategies.

If you want to talk to other competitive battles, I'd suggest PKMN.net. There is a large community of Pokemon fans there and I know that there is a thread which lists the Pokemon in all users friend safaris, which is very helpful. There are a lot of knowledgeable users on there who can help you with your questions about competitive battling.
