Hi there! Westward Island has come a long way since I last posted here, and I plan on rebooting Westward Ho! in a separate thread. The reboot will be more creative and will serve as a dumping ground for some lore that's in my head about the island and its residents. I would like to give a shoutout to TN4U; his short stories inspired me to give this journaling thing another shot. Thank you all for taking the time to read this old Island Journal! Below this message is the Journal in its entirety.

Westward Ho!
Welcome to my Island Journal for Westward Island. Here I will be posting the goings-on of Westward and whatever stuff I feel like putting there. Expect PaRappa references.

I will show my map later. For now, here's some information...​

1. Westward was a random name that came to my head as I was thinking of a name for my island. Other options included Cartisla (from my NL town Cartoras), Takoyama (from a PaRappa character also known as Hairdresser Octopus), and Xanadu (from the mansion in Citizen Kane. I don't watch old films but Xanadu's an interesting name). Eventually I picked Westward because I live in the western side of the U.S. Which state I'm in is none of your beeswax!

Entry #1 - What Happened on 1/17/2023​

I started off on 12/26/2022, the day I set up my Switch. During that time up to here I slowly developed my beloved island Westward. Buildings were constructed, plants were planted, land was sold, etc... Then all that paid off when K.K. decided to pay a visit here.

It was very fun hearing him perform for the first time since I last played NL, and when the credits rolled I felt like I was closing a door. But I knew this was only the beginning, and Westward has a long way to go before it can be as great as the other islands I've seen online.

After that happened, Tom Nook and I met outside my house. After we talked for a bit he added the Island Designer app to my NookPhone, which gave me more opportunities to make Westward match my visions. I decided to start off adding some dirt to my Pocket Camp section and promised myself to buy more PC furniture later on.

Happy Home Paradise​

I designed a house for Sterling (more details and photos coming soon), which also turned out to be my 20th vacation home! To commemorate this, the Paradise Planning team hosted a party at the cafe. I heard from Lottie that she has plans to host a big festival later, but I guess I have to design enough homes for that to happen.

After the party, I visited Ava's vacation home and remodeled the interior. I did that because I realized that when I first designed it I forgot about recreating the interior in Cheap Cheap the Cooking Chicken's show, so I had to do something about it.

Of course, creative liberties were involved. I substituted mixed-fruits pie for seafood cake. I couldn't change the color of the curtains so they had to stay white. Plus, the purple ovens are now red microwaves and the tables are all white instead of white and yellow. There's also no TV standee available. I still like it anyway.

Well, that's all I got for now. Who knows what the future has in store...I gotta believe!

Entry #2: A Brief Summary​

Unfortunately I was too busy to gain the motivation to make another entry earlier, but today I got it, so I'll use the opportunity to summarize everything that happened between my last post and now.

• 1/20/2023 Ava moves out.​
• 1/21/2023 Dotty from a Mystery Island moves into Ava's former spot.​
• 1/21/2023 Back room loan has been paid off.​
• 1/22/2023 Zucker from a Mystery Island moves in. This is my first dreamie!​
• 1/22/2023 Left room added to my house.​
• 1/22/2023 in HHP, the Cornelius Bee Hospital has been built.​
