I was absolutely obsessed with Antonio and became so happy when I found him! Sadly, I've never felt much of a really strong bond with any jock villagers as all they talk about is working out. Dobie was a recognized dreamie of mine so when I saw that someone was giving him away the other day I TTed to void a villager and went to pick him up. In the span of two days, I've fallen in love with him. He is the precious old man of my island :') I can't help feeling like I'm betraying Antonio though... I know I sound dramatic, but I've become really invested in ACNH, and love my villagers more than my own siblings
I really loved Puddles in NL and was considering inviting her to my town eventually, but when I invited her to the campsite with an amiibo card, I didn’t get vibe from her that I got from NL. Idk if that’s because the dialogue for Peppy villagers changed or what. She wasn’t a dreamie in NL either at first but was a villager that I started out with.
Aside from Puddles, my favorite villagers are the same and I found some new favorites or potential favorites.
My NL favorites have been: Punchy, Kiki, Puddles, Rosie, Merry, Lolly (never had her but want her), Ankha, Marshal, Roscoe, Gaston, & Dotty (didn’t have her in NL; I can’t remember which AC I had her in).
New favorites/potential favorites in addition to my NL favorites are: Raymond, Sherb (potential new favorite), Rudy, Lily.
More might be added to the last list since I might let some randoms replace a few of my villagers eventually since I unfortunately messed up their house or I don’t want them to keep their starter house (Rudy was a starter villager and his house looks like a warehouse now).
Moe was my favorite in new leaf for years and hes been one of my favorites still in new horizons. Sure his dialogue is different, but I still absolutely love him. Tom is another that was a favorite in new leaf that is still a favorite.
I got Olivia who I liked on that gamecube, but didn't really bond with her until I got her a second time on my island. I have her amiibo card so I wasn't worried about kicking her out.
I'm trying not to have too many of the same long term villagers I had in new leaf, but currently I have three and I still love them.
Kitty and Alfonso are my favorite villagers, which hasn't changed with New Horizons. I just have such a long history with both those villagers that anyone else would have a lot to surpass.
Can't say that they really have. I mean, some of my favorites IN my town changed- Merry is one of my favorites on my island right now but I haven't had her in previous games (the only peppy I think I'd replace her for is Tangy, I LOVE Tangy). But most of my favorites are the same- including Dobie! I have his Amiibo and I've had him in my ACNL/ACNH towns ever since ☺ Here's his current home:
He lives on a little piece of beach that's only attached to the main island by that little log bridge. Past his house on a rocky part of the beach is a place all the island young'uns go to party, and Dobie pretends to hate it but secretly enjoys listening to their young people music
mine has, a bit. in new leaf, my absolute favourite was beau - i was seriously so obsessed with him lmao. while he was my initial pick for my lazy villager for new horizons, i managed to get zucker instead and grew heavily attached to him and believed i liked him more than beau. but i was proven wrong when i encountered beau while island hopping and while i still adore zucker and beau still isn’t my #1 favourite again, i still adore him as much as i used to and might even like him more than zucker, again.
but for a while, audie was my ultimate favourite - she was the one dreamie i was obsessed with getting and always hoped to get her. now that i have her, i still love her with all my heart but i think my #1 favourite right now is either margie or skye - they’re my 2 most recent villagers and they’ve been my dreamie since before new horizons was dropped and i love them both dearly and am very grateful to have them ^_^
