I used to stand outside in the morning in the GCN games because I woke up too early so yes I did know the door animation existed.
My fact for the day is you can catch bugs on trees by hitting the ground to the left or right side of the tree even if you miss the actual tree. It sometimes requires certain setup to achieve though. It is easy to do if you are standing on a beach and aiming at a tree growing in the bit of land jutting out into the sea.
