Hi. Would anyone be willing to help me with design ideas? I’m really struggling to figure out what to do with my island, I just cleaned up most of the items off the ground, and I want to start designing but don’t know where to go from here and that is what is bothering me. I can set up a dream code if anyone is interested in looking to give me ideas?

You and me both. I really struggle with design on my island. But while you wait for some real design help, here are some things that are helping me and may also help you (hopefully, lol).
Visit! Visit a LOT of other islands! I use Luna and the dream bed to explore other islands. There is a thread on here with codes for dreaming. Explore as many as possible. Pay attention to what you like/dont like about all of it. (Theme/no theme, cluttered/sparse, natural/not so natural, highly terraformed/flat as a pancake)... As I explore more islands, I'm really starting to develop a sense of things I don't like (inconvenient pathways, flat terrain, hopping a million times to cross a large river). Also finding things I DO like (small waterfall areas, little alcove areas, lotsa pink and yellow).
Also- if you see designs you like, really note the details of how it was achieved, so you can go back and create something similar on your island, but with your own flair. Maybe set aside a small part of your island for experimenting with designs. Do some terraform and decorating, see how it looks, take a pic, then take it down.
And don't be hesitant to try. I've created some really awful designs in some areas of my island, which used to frustrate me, but now it's just learning and trying new "looks". I can always take it down and try something else.

Thank you! I’ve been playing since launch day and have yet to design my island, time to get to work!

Just jump in and do it! Nothing is permanent. 
And like has already been said, visit other islands. There is nothing wrong with using other people’s ideas!
