Is there an accurate guide on hybrids out there? Every guide I've found on Google is just information from City Folk with some made-up, not very-well researched information for violets and lilies added in. And well, when Google doesn't give me results, I get a little freaked out. I think that we should clear hybrids up right here, right now, once and for all, and then distribute the information to the rest of the Internet. Here's how it will work:

Genetics:

I'm pretty sure it's been proven, or at least is a credible theory, that hybrids in New Leaf include genetics, right? Genes are passed from flowers to their offspring, and so on. But what about flowers from Leif? We don't know where they come from, and with the easy availability of flowers in HUGE numbers on the island, why would we een NEED to pay for two more a day? I feel like Leif's flowers are more important than that. Specifically, I think his flowers are genetic-blank slates. Otherwise, the presence of flowers in his shop seems.... useless.

My Proposal:

I say we gather a group together to take advantage of Leif's flowers to figure out the exact specifics of genetics. Who wants in on it? Once you've signed up, I'll inform you through PM's what we're going to do.

Who we need:

Lily-Researcher: Torakichi25

Violet-Researcher:

Pansy-Researcher:

Cosmo-Researcher:

Rose-Researcher:

Tulip-Researcher:

Flower-Gatherer(Need a TT'er):

Am I missing flowers? Also, if there IS an *accurate* guide for hybrids in New Leaf, just send me a link, and ignore this massive wall of text.

I get the part about roses but the bit about purple pansies is too much for my tiny mind. Do you need two red that have come from blue and orange next to each other or a red that has come from blue plus a red that has come from orange?

Blue roses come from red roses that came from orange and purple roses. So basically, breed orange and purple to get red, and breed 2 of those special red for a chance at blue. The red roses also I think can make purple, orange, white, and whatever colors were used to make the purple and orange.

This was a helpful post for me. I don't like the looks of blue roses, but I have a friend who does, so I wanted to breed some for her. Thanks!
