I have 5 stars and have yet to find a rare one. I think the spawn rate is just REALLY low.

The only thing I've noticed is that I'm getting more rare mushrooms than I think I should. I'll have to check my supply of elegant and get back to you.

I think rare mushroom spawns are connected to island ratings. My island floats between 4-5 stars (depending how much trash I have lying around lmao) and I've found several elegant mushrooms, but no rare mushrooms yet.

I've been playing quite a bit (I TT) and noticed they do spawn less often than all the other mushrooms. The rare mushroom is the absolute rarest for me thou.

After a while thou the rate of elegant mushrooms started to pick up later in November. They're still a more rare mushroom, but there have been days that I find 2 in the same day (one time on the same tree). Not sure if its just for me or if it's intentional.

this is correct, they are directly associated with island ratings

The elegant mushrooms spawn in the least from what i've experienced. It will take some TT and patience to get some of them.

The elegant was the rarest mushroom for me to find. 4 star island here. Then today I got THREE elegant mushrooms. I was pretty pumped for that. Now I'm grinding the balloons... and am getting very angry... two hours in and not a single Mush DIY recipe.

Oh wow I had completely forgotten about the elegant mushrooms! Haven't even seen one yet, and I've dug up around 5 rare ones so far. My island fluctuates between 5 and 4 star ratings, this probably has something to do with that.

Also, are there no famous mushrooms this time around? Those were the cutest!

edit: wow I am actually stupid lol
just google what the elegant mushrooms look like and I actually have plenty of them, so many that I just assumed they were regular types... I wish they looked like they did in NL
