i enjoy it! my house isn't very well decorated atm but i have all the expansions and ideas i want to execute. some of the rooms are ridiculously small though.

I don't. I love decorating my house interiors. In fact, I wish Nintendo will give me options to customise the size of my rooms. 
But I do understand why some of you dislike doing it. It's not as aesthetically pleasing compared to decorating the entire island.

Well, yes and no.
It depends actually, like I always coming up with ideas for the living room, kitchen or bedroom and it's real fun decorating them. When it comes to decorate the bathroom, basement as well as that one room (in my case the right room) however, I struggle a lot to come up with nice interior fittings and yes in such moments, I kinda hate it. Right now, my bathroom just looks awful, the basement is a mess and the right room has so far only a bed in it. I guess once I got some more inspirations, I will work on them and perhaps it will be more fun to decorate them (however, I will be glad if it's done, lol).

I think 2 of my rooms in my home are semi complete but most of them look really empty.
I haven’t exactly found a way to fill them yet. I feel like I possibly could fill them but it’s trying to arrange them and making sure it fit.
Then half way through it gets exhausting and I forget that I even started on it didn’t turn out the way I planned.

I ignore the HHA now. I got all the plaques and trophies, so they have no power over me.
I really want to change all my rooms (except my stillroom) up for the seasons, but I should take pictures so I can put things back together, if I don't like the new creation.

My sister sorta did after awhile because she couldn't get everything she wanted at a good price and it was hard to get some furniture. I would also hate decorating too because of the same reason and as ages would pass by, the house will just look bare and lazy designed inside.
I LOVE decorating my houses! It’s actually one of my favorite aspects of the game. My main character’s house is complete, as well as 2 other character’s houses. I still have another 2 houses to decorate, but that’s it. I think it adds a personal touch to your island, especially cus I enjoy seeing how your house reflects your personality/island. I’ve seen some amazing interior designs and get super jealous, haha.
Although, I do understand your feelings about the furniture—there’s a lot that hasn’t been added to ACNH that’s available in ACNL and AC: Pocket Camp. It kinda sucks, cus PC has soooo many good items that would like fantastic in the console game; but, alas, we aren’t given the desire of our hearts. I hope you can find some inspiration once more furniture is released in the future.
