I have to say that I think this is a fantastic idea! Especially if you decide to changeup the theme or fencing around the island, honestly this is a big reason why I haven't changed anything around my island... I would have to change inclines and bridges just to match a new style 😓

I agree! We should be able to upgrade bridges/stairs without demolishing them first. I've wasted millions of bells after changing up color schemes and just wanting to change the type of bridge/incline but not the place.

Plus it turns construction from a possible one day turnaround time to two because you have to waste a whole day demolishing. For those who don't TT, it's a nightmare!

I agree- but, more than that, WHY is there no option to MOVE a bridge? I can't count how many times I've had to waste bells demolishing a bridge, then spending the full bells to rebuild an entirely new bridge, because I realized I wanted to move it over one square 😒

But, again, I do agree. I hated having to demolish those early bridges and rebuild them because I wanted something better than what I could originally afford!

While we're at it.... Make it so that the original placement isnt taken into consideration when we move things. Let us move the bridge on space to the right without having to move the entire thing somewhere else first.

That would be a lot better. Theres a ton of quality of life changes they could make to the game that would mean a lot for our experience.

It's not really that big of a problem. They give you the option of seeing what its like before hand.

The problem isn't people making mistakes with their bridge / incline placement, the problem is people deciding that they want a bridge / incline somewhere and then later changing their minds and deciding on a different style or location. It's very easy for terraforming to become a massive time and bell sink if you don't know exactly what you want your entire island to look like or if you aren't 100% committed to your planned layout.

Also, you don't get the option of seeing what the very first bridge you put down is going to look like. It'd be nice to change that one up at least.

Moving a bridge would be nice, but also doesn't make much sense. I'm sure it'd be very difficult if not impossible to do irl. So I'm more or less at peace with that, but if I can have a magic wand that changes my clothes, Nook can magically change the color of my dang bridge.
Then again, Nook surely has some heavy duty construction equipment hiding somewhere... So maybe he *could* move bridges and this is just some kind of bell racket.

i couldn’t wrap my brain around the fact that they didn’t improve the way bridges work. if you ask me, makes zero sense that we can’t upgrade it. while we’re at it, making it move could have been possible too. yes what we have now was how it worked in new leaf but you’d think because we can move buildings now we can also move these.

we can’t move a building irl either but in ac we can. 😭 or can we? anyway we’re just going with their logic, or select logic that is.

Sure you can! But I think it's very difficult and expensive. Historic lighthouses in particular get moved a lot because of rising ocean levels.

You're 100% right on AC having select logic though.

fair point. i did think about it twice and thought maybe people move buildings irl, they just don’t where i’m from lol. in ac logic we can also just move certain buildings but others are permanent 😅

Agreed! But alas, there's always some little detail that Nintendo insists on leaving out to keep the convenience levels at average.
