I see a lot of happy home designer and i am debating a lot on getting it. i really don't know much about it besides you don't get your own home and stuff. what do you do when you finish designing everyones home and town? is there a end?
One of the benefits of "Happy Home Designer" over "New Leaf" is that you don't find yourself in a trap to play it on a daily basis. (Those who don't play "New Leaf" on a daily basis, and leave it alone for a while, have better control of one's town by noting the last game date to increase likelihood of not losing any villagers one wants to keep.) Another benefit is being able to encounter all villagers from "New Leaf" when you decorate for them in "Happy Home Designer."
The negatives are that there is no bonding with villager in "Happy Home Designer"—especially with one-on-one conversations—as a human player gets to have with them in "New Leaf." (It also would have been nice if the human could decorate his/her own home in "Happy Home Designer.") And "Happy Home Designer" does get to become redundant after one has acquired particular furniture pieces available only from certain villagers. (I was after the Box Sofa and Box Corner Sofa. I finally got them. They are available from the Uchi bear Paula.)
"New Leaf" is the type of game in which, when committing to a given town, it can feel neverending. "Happy Home Designer" is the type of game in which you play it for a more limiting time before you cast it aside…and maybe, or maybe not, play it again (however many weeks or months) at a later date.
There is no harm in buying "Happy Home Designer." But, if you get into Amiibo Cards (as I have), the costs add up. Each card averages $1.00. (A pack in the U.S., with six cards, sells for $5.99.)
Nintendo knew what was it was doing with "Happy Home Designer."
What I would like to see, with the next "Animal Crossing," is a sequel to "New Leaf" which combines the flexibility of "Happy Home Designer" [home d?cor and expansions] and brings in zoning control [houses, buildings, Public Works Projects] for the mayor concept of "New Leaf." Nintendo could call it "Animal Crossing: New Leaf—Expanded." This could include a lot more storage space (we even get that in "Happy Home Designer" for original designs, such as ones used for paths). And a lot of the suggestions I have seen posted here, since I joined
The Bell Tree Forums in November 2013, could get incorporated into "New Leaf—Expanded."
