I got accepted to be in the closed beta test for FFXIV (Final Fantasy 14)!

In the game you can have a first and last name, the first name on my character is obviously my real first name, but I just made up the last name.

Is it any good? I really don't think I'd make the financial investment in a game like this.

It's only OK so far, not good, but not bad. It's still in the beta stage obviously, so they should be changing a lot of stuff soon. The monthly fee isn't that expensive though. It's going to be about 12 U.S. dollars a month.

Is it basically a glorified XI? Because that one was horrible...I was so ashamed to be a FF fan and have that in the series...

There are a lot of similar elements, but it doesn't feel as cumbersome as XI does. XI almost felt like it was a full time job, and you ALWAYS had to be in a party to get things done. This one is a lot different, because the game is designed around solo play. There are still a lot of things they need to change in this game, though. I think it comes out in 2 months, and that kind of worries me. I'm still not 100% sure if I'll play this game, I'll just have to wait and see how much they can change in this last part of the beta.

Hmmm... I doubt I will be getting it. I have too much to do than get caught up in MMORPG's.
